I like cherry easy to work and is really pretty when finished up. Its my first bow since my break from making them and was really worried about it chrysaling. I didnt have any issue I actually had it worked in and had about 1.25 of set but when I went to put it back on tillering tree to take pics I overdrew it and bow it has 1.75 of set after shooting that settles down into 1.5. I could probably get the upper limb bending more outer third a touch bit but I just want to go on and make a reflexed version of this now that I got some experience with cherry. Need to put a handle on her and start shooting more I made a promise to myself that I am gonna start shooting these things more and not just get caught up in just making the things.

Not quite full draw but I always get nervous taking pics at full draw.

Ok now that I am staring at this full draw can someone please give me some feedback. Should I be making these outer limbs bend more ? I keep going back and forth with this Ill check it one day and think its good then Ill check again and feel like they need to bend a bit more. The limbs are parallel to about 14 from top then they taper to half inch.

Your bends look very good to me. The last 6" or so of the tips should be stiff. Nice bow. :OK

Nice work - I like it!

The bend looks good for a pyramid style taper but if the limb width is parallel theres probably too much bend in the inner limb. I find black Cherry to be quite light so your bow dimensions would be helpful to know. It looks too narrow for 64 and 48lbs at 28.

That is a beautiful handle

This gives me some hope. I found some really nice straight grained cherry at the specialty lumber store the other day and I have a tri-lam glued up now with that wood. I haven't made any bows with cherry since the late 90s, but as you said, it was nice to work and really pretty.
Love it!

I like the ash cherry combo that I went out and bought more.

Its 1 5/8th wide and I have the same feelings about the tiller too. Its ok though its my first bow in a few months, was a good warm up.

Thank you all for the nice words hopefully more to come. Got two more glued up I am thinking a lightly reflexed version and maybe Ill give a r/d a try.
