Title: And this is why
Post by: jamesh76 on April 03, 2020, 08:31:50 pm
This is why I decided to attempt board bows. These hickory and osage will take a while to dry. I have access to alot of osage. Will likely cut a few from my friends far pretty soon.

Board bows are epic, just ask ryanyoon. Don't ask pearlie tho. He'll try to take them off your hands for his trimming

if you can take care with your own stave from tree to bow, why fight what home depot offers? you could reduce one of those and be tillering before too long.

what is the one in the round laying on the ground?

A while back when I didn't have staves I made Bamboo floor board bows. Easy to work with, and makes a decent bow with heat treat.
