Hi everyone. I'm working on a black walnut deflexed recurve. 67' ntn. i got it braced and then deflexed the handle area and started the recurve about 2/3 of the way down the limb and curve gradually up toward the nocks. I used steam and then tempered the whole bow with a heatgun. The nocks sit 3 3/4" above the handle. Is this too much reflex for this species? Ample width of 1 3/4" for 2/3 of each limb before tapering to the nocks.

The intended draw weight is 40 lbs. The stave is clean and straight grained.

You might be ok there, if it starts taking set early lower your target draw weight.
