Title: heat gun temperature!!

Im gonna buy a heat gun but what temperature do I want to get? I was looking at this one.

I have the 500 and it works great but either fine. heres a thread with exactly the same question word word for word!  ???  ;) (lol)

Milwaukee 1200-1500 watt for me. I bought a laser thermometer at Home Depot . My question is what temp are you bringing the wood to? Specifically for Osage mainly. I have been doing it by feel for years. Maybe the heat treat king Marc can shed some light here.   Arvin

Heat it until it's too hot to hold your thumb on it. If you are heat treating  a limb heat it until it turns a nice chocolate brown. We are talking about primitive archery, not nuclear physics.
