That's a perfect little elm bow. Elm really does well with those short designs and you tillered it just right.

Sleek, I have seen some of your short bows. You do great work, so thank you. I have  built 4 Elm bows as of recent. This is the shortest one. The others are 52, 59 and 66 inches long. All in the 45 to 50 pound range except for one. A 35 lb. lefty for Will B's grand son. I can still build 8 more ,so I will be busy after the hunting season.

I dont think people quite realise what it takes to get a 50 inch bow WITH a stiff handle no less, bending to 25.5 inches AND pulling 50 pounds. To top it off you got very little set and your arrow speed is right at what lots of people get with bows 12 inches longer. You did a fine job and really should be proud. Is that heat treated? How wide is it? Do you know what species of elm it is?

Thanks sleek, and Del. Yes, multiple heat treating. The bow is one, and 5/16 inches at the fades to 9/16 inches wide at the tips. The Elm was taken from my son's land, and as far as I know it is American Elm. I was able to get 2 bows from the small tree, but short bows. The other bow is an inch shorter, and 35 lbs.at 25 inches. A lefty made for Will B grandson. Here are some pics.

Another homerun Bass. I maybe hitting you up for some advice in the near future, I have a couple shorter bows in the works and you seem to have the tiller technique for shorties nailed down.
