Made from billets. Lilac is one of my all time favorites. It's just so darn snappy.

Very cool. The two are even related.

Very nice. I haven't found any lilac yet.

Cool bow. 8)

Thing of beauty. I have Lilac in the front yard, wife would not be happy camper if I cut them.

upstate,
Hope you don't mind me reposting pictures of your build, but I had to...I played around with one pic to see the bend in this bow...I must say this is what tiller is all about, getting everything moving from the fades to the tips in harmony...You got it going on here...You nailed this one also...Tried to get the angle in the first pic close to your full draw...I love to see a pair of fades working...Wish I could put them side by side but not that advanced yet, lol...

That is a beauty.

Sweet bow. I bet it even smells good, too.

Very Nice Jeff. Lilac is my wife's favorite to. I know I can't use hers, but I keep eyeing up a very large lilac bush growing next a telephone pole in road ditch. Once upon a time there was a old farm house there. It's gone but the lilac bush is very large.

That is a lovely bow.
I wonder if the Lilac down there has the same purple and tan coloring in the heartwood that it has up here, it also smells really nice when worked.
-
Just wow! That's a really nice bow, you can be proud about.
Is it a perry reflex?
The only thing are your blocky handles I cannot get warm with, but if you like it like that, why not.
Congrats!!

Very nice! Like that a bunch.

Awesome bow!
-
Real nice Upstate! Like everything about that bow. Lilac is near the top of woods I'd like to try.

Another beauty Upstate. Your bows sure are impressive. Bet it's pretty fast, too. Great job.

Thanks for the responses guys.
PatM, now that you mention it, I think I remember you saying that a while back. Thanks for reminding me!
DC, Rochester NY is home of the "Lilac Festival." We've got a ton of it around here, but it's still very difficult to find a piece straight enough for a bow.
Thanks Pat B :)
Woodely, I certainly wouldn't tempt fate with the wife!
Don, I really appreciate seeing those pics the way you set them up. Thank you!
Thanks bassman )P(
BJ, sounds like that lilac's got your name on it. 8)
Thank you Marc. I'd say the heartwood is definitely the same down here. Hard to see in the pics, but one of the billets had enough of it to remain on the bow. It sure does smell nice!
Thank you Martin. The reflex was heated in then increased during the glue up. Huh, and I thought this handle wasn't that blocky. Been trying to make them more curvy and organic-feeling in the hand. Guess I've still got some work to do there. ;D I appreciate the honesty. Glad you like the bow though! :OK
Thanks Slim and OO.
Hope you get your hands on some soon M2A. You won't be disappointed
Thank you Steve! :)

Very nice! Another wood to add to the list to find and work!

Congrats to that beauty. My hats off!

Well done! Those rd's sure are addictive right ;D Great combo with lilac and ash. I think those woods complement each other well
-
👍👍 nice job.
-
Yep hawk, add it to the list. You won't be disappointed :OK
Thanks simk and rps3. :)
Yes sir leon, they're addictive for sure. Thanks man :)
-
Fairly right Jeff! I researched some of your earlier ones, this one looks way more rounded. With the cut in shelf maybe even necessary, but that's just guessing....no experience with hard backings and perry....
So sorry...
This is an outstanding bow and a hot one for BOM!

No worries Martin! I'm glad you reminded me that I really want to work on my handles. :OK Thanks again. :)
Thanks Taylor. Congrats on the BOM bow!
