52.5” long 45#@26” - beef back sinew in one layer over linen all set in Weldbond PVA with whitetail antler tips and scraps of western diamond back skins. Completely a spare parts bow. Belly split off another stave from days gone by and junk snake skin pieces leftover. I’ve been wanting to make another shorty since I gave my sinew hickory shorty away this fall. Gratifying to build a serviceable bow out of useless stuff laying around. These scrappy bows have become a favorite...just love to build them from the scrap pile.

Oh yeah! Nice bend on that shorty. I'm really into these bows right now. Unbraced?

A few red osier shoots/ rock/ feathers and ya got a fine deer killer right there. Them shorties will sneak up get ya, addictive dont ya know. :OK

I like it. It turned out awfully nice for being made out of scraps.
-
That turned out real nice.

At first glance I thought you were just gripping the bow too low, but looks like that was your plan, and looks like you tillered it just right. Good job, nice looking shorty.
-
That looks really nice but don't those nocks make it a pain to brace? Or do you take the string off the end every time?
-
Don, big loops! Another parts bin find. I had been using the string to tiller some other shorties over the last few years. I think its 10 strands of 65# braided fishing line. Doh!
-
Nice! Might have to try that, Jacie gets a "shorty" anyway.
