Those look a lot better than my first ones, Auggie. Looks like you're a quick learner, good job.

Great start Auggie. Did you sacrifice any blood to the knapping gods?  Justin

Looks good Auggie. I'm still at the starting stages also and you've done better than my attempts. Hoping to run across some knapping talent at Pappy's place in May and maybe even get someone to demonstrate the right way to knap(hint, hint).

Very nice there Auggie, and Oh yea, there must be blood.  :D I roughed out a piece yesterday, ran two shards in my hand right off.  I've never tried pure glass, but obsidian is wicked sharp.  Now I have to ask:  Where did you get a glass milk bottle?  ???  That opaque plastic doesn't knapp worth a darn.   ::)

nice work. good choice on the shiner too. the dark points in my 'beer bottle points' post are from  shiner bottles. the bottoms are fairly thick, flat, and plus its just plain good beer.

Shiner beer is always good! As far as the milk bottle goes, there is a samll dairy farm up north of me that is selling in glass, lost my deposit on this one though. Managed to get by with only one large shard  finding its way in a finger, more pain than blood loss, but hey its pain that lets us know we are alive anyway.
