Title: First one with a bow I actually made.

Had a great hunt tonight. Harvested my biggest doe to date. She weighed in at 118 lbs. I have taken a deer with a selfbow before but never with one that I made. Probably a 21-22 yd shot.  Its a pretty awesome feeling.

Congratulations, I bet you are on cloud #9 now.  That's a nice doe, especially with a self made bow.

Thanks for the details arrowbuster. Your right that is how you should feel. I really do wish more people could experience that feeling. Sure glad you got to.

Good job and good eating. chicken fried steak, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, stews, jerky, sausage, stir fry, fajitas, roast, stroganoff, deer kabobs, and no telling what I forgot. No wonder I am getting fat. Congrats.

You are ruined for life now, every kill you make with anything but a selfbow will be small change compared to the doe you got. The pride of making your own bow and killing a deer with it is hard to explain to folk who haven't done it yet. I remember my first selfbow kill well with and am still a little  awestruck by it even though I have killed a bunch with my selfbows since.
