Well, I'm sitting here with flintknapping on my mind and 4 fresh stitches in my hand from a knapping accident, so I thought I'd share some stuff. Not too long ago I acquired two "teaching casts". These are plastic copies of some points made by Woody Blackwell to show how he sets up his platforms for clovis-style knapping. The point shown has several prepared platforms ready to strike a series of large percussion flakes.

Good stuff, he is the most meticulous knapper I have seen, and especially when setting up isolated platforms. Taking time to set them up is one thing that separates the 'men from the boys'... hah
