We've had a serious family crisis that has required a lot of my time for about the last month. This is a late Christmas present. It's TV on a cholla handle. The button is English walnut and red cedar. I hope my recipient likes it. I was planning for more but I'm afraid this will have to do.

Absolutely! That's a great image!

Thanks JW, it was a beautiful day today. 24 degrees sunny and no wind. Man it felt good after all the cold and wind we've been having. Last week it would have been a indoors picture.

BJ,
That is a real nifty present, well worth waiting for, and a great addition to a collection!

Thanks Hawkdancer. It's been a strange Christmas Season this year. I started out really in the Christmas Spirit but then things happened that just didn't make it feel like Christmas anymore. It's been a really difficult time and looking forward to better.

Thanks Zuma, I didn't mean to be a downer. It's just one of those huge bumps in the road. My daughter is having a very though spell. She has taken a huge step now she needs to take a whole bunch of small ones. She can use some prayers. We all can use some prayers. Thanks so much and I'll probably PM you when I get more time. I'll still try to spread some joy. Everything is moving in the right direction. It just moves a bit slow.

Bj, I hope you family situation gets better for you.
I love the knife! I had a piece of cholla cactus on a bow handle last summer. I filled all the little holes with epoxy mixed with some turquoise rit dye. It turned out Sweet! Just a thought, but you probably already sent it off. Someone will be very Happy for sure!

My sincere Thanks Patrick. I really do like the cholla for handles. It does have a really cool look that is not common to this area. I toyed with the idea of making a removable button and storing something in handle. Like maybe some fish hooks and line. When I took it to the post office the lady there wanted to know if I'd make one for her husband. She couldn't believe it was a TV screen.

Your welcome buddy.
I always get a kick out of the looks and questions I have gotten from the post office employees.

Love the way you finished the Cholla handle

Thanks flungonin. It's at it's new home now. It made it safely on Santa's sleigh to another PA member in Ohio. Glad to hear hunter bob liked it to. I like to file the cholla down to fit my hand. Put a button on and a little English Walnut stain and tru oil. I have thought of doing like Patrick did, but never tried it yet.
