Here is one that ive been working on off and on since 2016. I worked it to a ring and sinew and rawhide backed it. 45.5" OAL. It draws 58# @ 23" and is pretty quick shooting. In fact i plan to hunt with it one day! It has a semi rigid handle that bends a bit. I just finished the grip with leather tab for the arrow rest. The tips are buffalo horn. I drew some inspiration for the artwork from the Modoc examples i have seen. I sure have a thing for these shortbows!

Kudos to ya man. That's one fantastic looking bow! :)
-
That thing is sick! 8) I love everything about it.
-
You really nailed the shape and bend of Great basin and California historical bows.
-
Great looking bow! Perfect tiller as well! It is hard to make these short bows, so kudos to you!
-
Beautiful. Do you have a unbraced picture? Good Luck hunting

I'm very new to this forum. It's bows like this that make me thrilled to now be a part of it. That bow is absolutely gorgeous. Kudos man!

A lot of artistic talent showing up this month. Gorgeous bow.

Thanks for the unbraced pic. Looks fantastic. Again, congrats on such fantastic craftsmanship and attention to detail. :)
-
Sweet little bow! Thanks for sharing.
-
Thanks again to everyone, i have entered it in BBOM, if you find it worthy i would appreciate the vote. Some big names on here giving me kudos, inspiring my next projects :BB
Hawdancer-that bowrack is $40 shipped on ebay, its from a company called Kotulas if that helps. ;)

Very nice, love the artwork!
-
Hope they don't have a patent on the rack! It is cool. I have enough exotic wood to work up a new design, after, I get the bow finished and tillered, the new arrows made, etc., etc! Rail sent

The bow is great but the house is better. Arvin

That is one awesome bow- the shape and finish work is just too cool. I am just getting started but am drawn to short bows. Great work
-
Beautiful bow. I really like the artwork. Great job.
-
That is some SMOOTH finish work, brother! And a very attractive profile and tiller. 58 lbs at that length would challenge me.
-
What a beauty! Thanks for sharing. Why kind of wood did you use? Was that dry heat that bent those limbs or steam? Good luck :-D. Thanks again.
-
Thanks so much guys for all the appreciation for this short bow!
ThreeSons this is Osage. I actually used a method using a heat gun and automotive oil on this bow. I am actually thinking it to be less necessary and more messy than anything as i progress through builds...but it is the method i was taught and is the one i used on this bow.

Simply beautiful, you have my vote on BBOM and I have one entered. Nice cabin.
