Post by: DC on February 04, 2017, 01:31:28 pm
I thought we were done with this crap!

Sorry, I just had to vent, I know others have it worse and some folks actually like this stuff.

Send it here. It's winter and snow is part of winter. We keep going from winter to spring to winter and back to spring. It was 16deg this morning and will be in the 60s tomorrow.   We did have a little snow 2 weeks ago but it only lasted 2 days and back up to the 60s.

Yep its getting old already.  In early December during the first dump I twisted my back shovelling snow,  I was on the couch flat out for 2 days.  >:D  Spent 2 hours removing snow this morning the stuff is really, really, heavy and 8" of it.

I agree with Gutshot, I would just as soon have that than rain and mud.

I'm on the bottom left hand corner of Canada. We get "warm" winds from the Pacific that usually keep that stuff at least minimized. We had two dumps this year. I don't think we had snow for the previous 3 maybe 4 years. Nothing that lasted more than the afternoon anyway.

Up here, we got 2 seasons - winter and August, we aren't real sure about August!  I got home from Cheyenne just before the roads turned into a skating rink and shut down the interstate Wednesday evening.
Snow is ok good for skiers and bunny hunting - ice sucks!  Nice picture though😀

Send it my way, Don! Chasing bunnies with beagle is more fun with a good layer of snow.

It snowed all day yesterday off and on. We now have 10" (26cm) on the ground. My street hasn't been plowed so I worked on a bow all day :D Same today except for some shovelling. Hope the plow comes today or tomorrow morning will be busy getting everyone where they want to go.

DC,
Send your snow our way. We are having our annual Snowshoe Shoot this Saturday and the trail could use some fresh snow. It has been on and off this year as far as snow. We get some cold weather and snow and then a warm up. I would prefer snow would stick around but the mild winter will help the wildlife.

We had another dump last night. 11" of heavy shovelling. There is 22" on the ground. They are promising rain in 3 hours. I think some roofs are going to fail.

Well DC! We hit over 60 today. Of course we have had over 12 inches of rain in February alone. Reservoirs that have been too low for years are in danger of failing! just my commute had been hampered by more than 100 yards of slide material! Many of us here would rather have the snow abour now!

Yeah, I know I'm a whiner ;D ;D I'm at that age where anything unusual is upsetting. Especially things that require shovelling. On the bright side the rain didn't materialise so that saved a few roofs I think. We have 6 " or so left, all the roads are clear and the is a southeaster coming that will get rid of the last of it. Double digit temps are on the way. That's 50 degrees to you guys. Oh, I just looked outside at the thermometer and I can see the branches moving, the Pineapple Express is here.

And you'll appreciate those full reservoirs in a few months, I'll bet that's good to see :D
