Hope everyone had a good holiday season and are in safe today. MOJam dates for this year are July 20 21 and 22 2017. More info to come later. Keith
-
Kieth - so glad to hear of the dates. I'll be there, Good Lord Willing.
Just finished scraping the ice off one of the vehicles, warming up and decided to check in.
Hope the ice didn't hit you too hard. Guess the big one is coming in tonight.
Gifford
-
That ice will be a fond and faint memory by the time we get to MOJAM! I hope the ice kills a bunch of MOsceeter larve and eggs...

Rumor has it that one of Dave's new girlfriends laid down the law to him. Said he can't attend this year!

I'm pretty sure that'll be an X-Girlfriend by July then! Dave, ...say it isn't so!
OneBow

;D that's why I keep several around in case I need to replace one. Lol.
I wouldn't miss mojam. I don't think my kids would let me either.
I wonder if I can stay two weeks this year? >:D

;D that's why I keep several around in case I need to replace one. Lol.

You should bring the entire Harem with you to MOJAM and introduce them to each other... :) :o ;D ::) 8) 8) 8)
...or maybe not, NONOSE will likely be there and he might just take a couple of them away from you!

A toast to our wives and Sweethearts!
May they never meet... ;)
See Ya'll in July. :)
-
I can think of at least four reasons why not to invite them. >:D
Not to mention, I wouldn't put that kind of crazy on my good friend no nose. Besides, isn't Marshall a college town? ;D
-
It's on the calendar! I'll have to get there early again so I can park by the power pole. ;D
-
I'm calling out the northern fellows from Marshall MI to come to Marshall, MO! We have sent a Missouri delegation to you and in the name of keeping the peace it's time to come here! My house will be empty the week before and available to anyone that needs it for air conditioning! Lol
I can't wait for mojam! Mar and I are working on something for the auction to again this year. I just hope there is a spot this year when we get there!
-
<snip>I can't wait for mojam! Mar and I are working on something for the auction to again this year. <snip>
I'll inform my brother Nathan to start saving his money for the bidding war. I'm sure he'll want to add to his collection of Miss Marley original designs! ;D ;D ;D
OneBow
-
If I remember right, that jar of Mojam dirt that Marley put on the table last year fetched quite a bit for the auction. And so did her personally designed bow!
-
The mojam dirt stays on my kitchen window sill. That way I'm never to far away.
Marley's favorite part of the week is "the feast" as she calls it. Followed by the auction. She would put everything she has on the table I think.
-
"Marley's favorite part of the week is "the feast" as she calls it. Followed by the auction..."
That would be two of my favorite events as well... let the bidding begin!
-
Yep, the "feast" makes ya too full to walk back up to camp so you have to stick around for the auction. :)
-
If all goes well, i will be there this year. Reckon I better get the wife to cookin uo more if that bbq sauce for the feast and auction.
-
got my days put in and ready to roll!!! Wyatt had a conflict gave him the option between the two said mojam before I finished !
guess he is hooked. See you all there!
-
Glad you will making it again this year. I'll need some bow socks again!
-
I have every intention of being there. Might try to get my sweet camp spot again too.
-
Scott, that spot sure us a sweet one. Although mine cones with a clothesline.π

It's worth it to be so close to the action.
-
It's worth it to be so close to the action.
True, but the wife just booked us a couple days at the "inn" anyway... ;)
-
Okay everyone! We got the get together at Chris's house over and all attention is going to mojam! The weather forecast is in the 70s and sunny. I'm working on lots of items for the auction and clout shoot to. I can't wait to see everyone again!
-
It's 20deg outside here and there's still a skiff of snow under the pines from yesterday. Sorta makes a guy look forward to being in Marshall Mo. come July... (S
-
Yep, it was 16 degrees when we got up. For all that, it's supposed to be near 80 come Monday. Don't like the weather? Wait a day or two.
Been makin' shavins, getting ready to work on some arrows, a quiver or two. Lots of odds and ends.
Looking forward to seeing the gang in July.
-
I've been going through my old, something's wrong I'll make something else, bows lately. I might have some things to get rid of at mojam! I'll probably have some cheap Osage staves to.
-
Well ill be there for sure, wouldn't miss it for the world! Not sure if ill get to do the whole week just yet because of the relocation and the possible new job but like Dave, if they tell me I can't go to mojam then ill likely be looking for another job at the end of July.
Can't wait to see everyone! I hope a few mojamers that didn't make it last year get to come this year.
Patrick
-
Dave, it sounds like you are hanging it up... getting rid of bows and wood...? are you feeling OK...? (-S
I'll be there for sure... (SH)

I will be there again this year
Can't wait :)

Good to hear Max! Looking forward to seeing you buddy.

Bring some more of that bark if you can.
I like it.
See Ya there

Hey was wanting to know know if I can set up the same place I set up last year love being down there to watch the magic happen !
Feathers n wood
Thanks Andy
-
man... it's been about a month since anyone has posted on this thread... :o We are having a nice but small gathering here in Arkansas on June 3-4. A great shoot and lots of bow addicts that will be working on wood and/or glass bows. Last year Terry Hughes (Arkansas Stick) was just one of the great bowyers there. It'll surely do until MoJam!
-
We have a Trad only 3-d shoot that weekend just south of Topeka. Makes for a good camping/shooting warm up till Mojam. :)
-
Im headed to the Marshall Michigan rendezvou next week. Ill definitely be ready for mojam after that! Looking forward to seeing all of my family in July!
Paul, I promise, no bow cracking tricks this year buddy!

Well I figured since I was already loaded and wasn't working right now that I would just head over there after I left Daves house Monday night.
So I guess ill see you all when you get here!
Patrick

I was there last week! Waited around all day but no one else showed up!
Actually I did spend the day in Marshall last week but was there for work. It sure seems weird to be there when Mojam is not going on. Something is just missing and it just does not feel right.
Depending if you guys show up on Saturday, it is only 6 and a half weeks until it starts! It will be here soon....
looking forward to it.

After Marshall Michigan's fun with the Jug Shoot there, I'm thinking I'd like to build a Jug Shoot rig for MOJAM this year. I mean we've always had the 'Jug' involved at MOJAM to an extensive degree, ...but this would be a way to amplify it. :o I'm thinking we could establish a Jug shoot with MOJAM rulez. To wit, a jug o'Apple Pie would be set at each station for the jug shoot. Participants would be required to execute the proper chicken wing technique and take a slug of Apple-Pie for each arrow shot at the jugs down range. Bring lots of arrows, as the Apple Pie has been known to turn arrows nearly invisible after shooting. 8) ;)

So start time would be.....early rounds of shooting Friday morning at 1:30 am with finals on Saturday morning at 2 am?
And...do we have enough apple pie? Seems like supplies dwindled pretty bad last year by Saturday evening.
Neal
-
As long as there's enough to fuel the bidding at the auction there's enough apple pie... ;)
-
<snip>And...do we have enough apple pie? Seems like supplies dwindled pretty bad last year by Saturday evening.
Neal
It depends upon whether or not Patrick brings Laney with him this year! :o It may not be possible to retain enough Apple Pie for the week...
OneBow
-
I think the jug shoot idea is spot on.
The thing about the apple pie is that we have gotten pretty good at making it. So we can bring plenty of extra!
Patrick
-
Not sure how much pie I can hold, but the jug shoot would be a hit! I haven't done it yet and I sure would like to. Sounds like we will need some extra milk jugs.
-
Everybody start saving jugs!!!
Neal
-
And lots of arrows. The way we do it someone can give you arrows during the shoot. It is a lot of fun. Can be a bit tuff on arrows though especially if you get a dozen or more in the jug. They end up facing every which direction. I'd rather break em than lose em.

You can shoot the crowd if you want, but I'll stick to the plastic jugs.

But Dave, if I shoot the crowd they'll lock me up and throw away the key... :o ???

-
May need to create a backstop in addition to the jug-shoot contraption. I can't think of a structure on the grounds that would be suitable as backstop.
And such a backstop could be used for a kids' balloon shoot.
-
Those target butts at the practice range might work Mike.
-
Likely not tall enough. Possibly not wide enough.
-
Likely not tall enough. Possibly not wide enough.
I'm thinking a couple large "drapes" made out of old carpet should do nicely as a back drop. I'll need to design a frame to hang these 'drapes' on and stand them up behind the butts.

Run a cable over the top of two target stands And stake the ends down drape your carpet over it and fire away
Doesn't have to be real tall just keep the jug stand Close to it so it catches the deflected arrows

I was thinking about another bow skirmish style shoot. Clay birds at twenty yards. First one to break all three wins. Do a tournament Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
-
yeah!
-
Dave would that be head to head, or several shooters at once?
-
Usually it's two guys head to head. We could set it up with the clays in two vertical lines easy enough. Maybe a buck a round and split the pot with the club.
But we'd need an impartial, (and sober.. ::) ) Judge/scorekeeper.
-

Sounds good to me! But it will never work, finding a solber, impartial judge after 9 pm may be impossible!

My daughter Nina keeps asking when she gets to hang out with Marley again. sounds like a good time and very tempting I doubt it'll happen this year but I'm going to see what I can do within the next couple years.
-
Paul, I'd be honored if you guys would be our guest. My pop up has AC and it can be all yours if that gets you here! You think lemonade profits were big in Michigan, wait til you add some hot temps! These girls would give county time a run for their money!
I'll bring two boxes of clay birds. Plus I have one in the camper from last year. We kinda do the shoot every year unofficial and very late. I'd like to see it official and earlier.
I started gathering stuff for the auction/clout shoot tonight too. About a month to go!
-
Man, I can't wait!
Paul, your welcome to use my camper as well. Ac and a TV for movies if needed for Nina.
Lemonade would sell like hot cakes! Especially as big of a push over the rest of the guys are for all of the cuteness that your daughter has. Hope to see you there bud, if not this time maybe next.

This is Robin from the Marshall Bowhunters. If you let me know what size carpet, we have a guy in the club that lays carpet. I will get a piece from him and have ready. We got our tube in, but we have to slightly adjust the running pig .Also does any one know the guy from Iowa that is an artist? He put some prints in the auction two years ago. Last year he said he wanted to help with t-shirt art, but didn't leave his number.

I'm pretty sure Mike (IowaBow) is an artist as well. Might it have been him?
On the carpet needed - If we can get enough to cover about 10 feet high to about 15 or 20 feet wide, It'd be ideal for a backdrop.

I plan on having an extra generator again this year. My inverter is super quiet, but if we keep the generators in one area and block them with some camper and trucks I don't think to many would object. I plan on bringing some plywood in case Patrick brings his super loud one again! If Cris brings his airstream it would make a fantastic blocker.
-
No loud one for me this year, my new one is twice a quiet. We could always put the extra trash barrels in front of them. Ill have my extra long generator cord so if I park next to you Dave like last year we can put them by the corner of the target range again.

Wooooo Hooooooo . . . Shootin' at clay targets and water jugs!
And the yearly runnin' pig. And clout shoot. And 3D courses.
Some may not have time to work on a bow!
Save your gallon water/milk jugs, fellas. For the jug shoot mens "finals", maybe switch from gallon jugs to 1/2 gallon?
-
I will start asking family and friends to save jugs. I can bring two liter soda bottles, but we don't use much milk.
I really think I need to make a bunch more arrows before MoJam starts. Have a feeling will be losing or breaking several this year.
Neal
-
Also, the city of Marshall is having Day In The Park on the Saturday of MO-Jam. They close the park and there is a car show, arts and crafts fair, vendors, kids games and such. Last year it was later in the year and they had a big turn out. The park has been promoting MO-Jam in their advertising. We will have a sign directing people down, so maybe we can get some more foot traffic through. It will draw a few thousand people to the park.
-
Do they close all vehicle traffic coming in and out of Indian Hills Park Friday evening and Saturday?
Where do they actually start closing the park? Do you know if the showers will still be available that day?
Sorry for a lot of questions... This may affect some of my plans for Saturday with some of my family coming up.
Neal
-
I think they are going to close it right after our entrance. You will still be able to drive down our road.
Only closed to thru traffic on Saturday.
I will ask about showers.
-
Sounds like mojam is going to be the best one yet! I will bring as many jugs/pop bottles as I can. I may also see if I can work on some arrows, not sure though. Might have to cut some limbs when I get there and make some disposable arrows! Got a job today but I have the week of mojam off! I hope I can bring everything I need this year!
I would love to do the dutch oven cake for Loyd!

Congrats on the gainful employment, Mr Pat!
For consistency sake, maybe we should stick to just the rectangular-shaped gallon and 1/2 gal milk type jugs.

I am preparing myself for the MOJAM heat this weekend. The OSS campout is this weekend and they are expecting 100+ degree weather for the event. I should be heat tempered by then.
-
I'll be doing a mountain man camp and showing some bows at the Lecompton Territorial Days on Saturday so that will be good heat "training" for me. And it sure ain't no "dry heat" either... ::)
-
Well, I started my heat treatment today! Detailing cars in a shop with no air movement in 90 degree temps with plenty of humidity is not exactly the best way to loose weight. But it will sure melt off! My clothes can a test to that!
I checked the weather for mojam, looks like mid to upper 80s wit humidity! Lowes about 70 at night, should be plenty hot. But I hope it stays that way instead of the over 100 degrees we have had in the past. (=)

Who is the individual I need to contact to make sure I have a 2XL t-shirt for me?? I did send mobow a message.
-
I am training for MoJam too. I thought I was getting close to being ready, then worked outside all day yesterday. Apparently I got more training to do because by 2:30 I was overheated. Soooooo....heading back out today to try it again! I should be more than ready in a month.

If you are like me, once you get that hot, you do not want to eat. I definitely lose weight in the summer too!
It is right at a month now for the early arrivals!

To a point Neil, but when my stomach gets queasy its time for a break and some food.

I am preparing myself for the MOJAM heat this weekend. The OSS campout is this weekend and they are expecting 100+ degree weather for the event. I should be heat tempered by then.
I was curious why they put that event on the Father's Day weekend? :-\ :o :D I'd prolly be in trouble if I went and the surprise family get together I don't know about went off without me.
OneBow

Maybe you can come to the United Bowhunters of Missouri shoot over at the Panther Creek club in Fordland next weekend Eric?

Perfect Father's day gift for me! :D

That looks like a nice little bow set Mike! Some young person will be mighty Happy with that set!
Patrick
-
Damn Mike! That looks great! It really shows your devotion to this event by auctioning off suck a perfect bow, right at you draw weight. It would be hard for me to do that. >:D
-
Indeed Mike. The arrow knock details are pretty nice too.
-
Nice bend on that one Mike.........cool arrows too
DBar

That's a real pretty package that you've put together Mike. :OK

Sweet set up Mikey.
Some day I will have to make a run down and hang out with ya'll for 4 or 5 days. Its on my short list.
-
Great work on that set Mike! I do love the auction... :) Pearl, no time like the present to come play with us at MoJam... (-S
-
This time next month for those of you that arrive a little early

I made a few more small things for the auction or clout shoot prizes.

Here's Bob's bid on the last one . . . . . $50!
-
"Apple Pie"... bid... Dave, you might put "MoJam 2017" and sign the little knives... ? They look great.
-
I was thinking about getting a wood burning kit and messing with em some more. I still need to sand them a bit more and sharpen of course.
-
now you have me thinking that I should talk Kenny into doing a wood burning demo at MoJam... he is so talented doing wood carving/burning artsy fartsy stuff on his bows! The one he made for a trade bow at the Montana gathering has a carved/burned Indian head grip.
-
Pics or it didn't happen Bob. π
-
Those look pretty sharp there Dave. You can scrimshaw or scratch into the antler then rub leather dye into it .
-
I need some more of that water in a fruit jar.
Come on down Pearl
Nice work Dave
I'am so excited, I think I peed a little.
Tick tock

Hey everyone. Cant wait to see you all again this year. Greg has been busy in the kitchen all day making some of that water in a fruit jar.

Looking forward to seeing you again this year Loyd! Any grandkids coming this year?
I'll have a few gallons of pie this year. I found another jug to replace my pink one that broke. That puts me up to three gallon capacity. Plus I got a special one for the auction. 8)
All bidders must be 21...kinda...unless the auctioneers aren't paying attention. >:D

Things that make you say 'that's interesting'
June 21, 2017 Summer Solstice
July 21, 2017 Mo-JAM
August 21, 2017 Total Eclipse of the Sun
Appears Mo-JAM is in bracketed well.
-
I saw that too Dan. It won't be long now. I'm trying to scrape a few side jobs together for some extra fun tickets to spend while I'm there.
-
What's the long term wether report look like? I might do the drive for some of Loyd's wine. Larry

Is that the temperature or the humidity Bob..? ;)
It's probably a misprint. I'm pretty sure that in order to be able to call it a MOJAM, both humidity and temp have to be in the 100's!
OneBow
-
Well, the humidity and temperature can usually be expressed by one number, e.g. 80 or 90 or 100, since they are the same....
-
Well guy's, im pretty sure that as of right now I may not be able to make it to mojam. And if I can it might only be for a day or two. Pretty sure I won't be there for the whole week. I just don't have any funds. With the move and me not working the bills are just pileing up. I did start a job last week detailing cars but his business is slow right now also. So I'm not making much there either. (R
So unless I can somehow come into some money and get stuff lined out I may not be there this year. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Patrick
-
I sure hope it works out you could make it Pat.At least on a saturday or something. We are kinda tight here too.
-
Well shoot Patrick... :(
Hope you can at least day trip it buddy.

That's a bummer Pat. Hope you can make it for the weekend at least.

<snip>So unless I can somehow come into some money and get stuff lined out I may not be there this year. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Dang it! I am pretty sure this is real bad news! I think it's time for you to hit the casino again man. I've only ever seen you win, unlike everyone else I know. Maybe you can get those guys to to fund your week at MOJAM!
OneBow
-
Thanks fellas, I do hope I can make it. But its looking really grim right at the moment.
Eric, you know me, I would love to hit the casino. But I don't think they would let me play if I don't bring any green backs with me.
Patrick
-
I hope things work out... it won't be long now.
-
If Pat can't come who's bringing the tiller tree? :-[
-
If Eric can bring it, I can see about getting it to him. I will probably be up in springfield in the next couple of weeks.
Patrick
-
I just found out thursday that jun 30th is my last day, im getting laid off. Lucky for me i found a job the same day and start july 17th. So I wont be abke to make it.
-
Damn, everyone is cancelling! I'll be there. I can't afford it, work doesn't like it, but f#$* em if they can't take a joke. Lol. I'm training for the Mr340 and will probably take a week off for the race right after mojam. I'll be broke but happy!
-
Geez Dave, tell us how ya really feel... ;)
We'll be having a good time and making bows in the heat soon and, if a couple of our Compadres can't make it, we'll toast them with a glass in the evening and Carry On... :)
-
I'll be there Davey. You can cry on my shoulder.. after you help me set up the camper!
-
Pat. We really need that tillering tree here and you showing people how to use it. The bow club will rent the tree from you for $100.00. Don't worry about your expenses. We will get them covered. You have MOJam family on your side. See you soon. Keith
-
I just got back from a WONDERFUL weekend at IowaBow's place in Burlington, IA. It really got me ginned up for MOJAM! Now if we can just arrange to have the PERFECT weather from this weekend during MOJAM! John has a wonderful setup at his place. You can surely tell he has put a ton of effort into making it the perfect place for gatherings like we had this weekend.

Keith - again, The Marshall Bow Hunters - MoJAM family comes through. Kudos and tip of the old MoJAM ball cap to you and the fellas.

What a great gesture Keith. Patrick, we'll see you in a few weeks!

Man Keith, what a gesture. Im really not sure what to say. With everything thats going on in my personal life right now, just you offering to help brings tears to my eyes.
Thank you all so much!
Ya'll will have that tiller tree one way or another! Hopefully on the back of a silver dodge ram!

Pat is gonna be there. There really isn't a doubt in my mind.
Paul, you know I'm not one to beat around the bush. Besides, it's only a job. I was looking for one when I found this one, and to be honest, I don't really like working for someone else anyway. Food and shelter are all I REALLY need. I can't wait to see all of my family again. It won't be long now!

It won't be long now... I plan on leaving for MoJam in 3 weeks...from tomorrow. It will be great to see everyone again.

Gonna step it up a day and arrive on tuesday. Whatcha say Mikey?

If all goes planned at this point, I'll be pulling my rig in on Friday evening the 14th and dropping some gear off before I head into KC to meet my darling wife for a birthday celebration in KC on Saturday. Do I need to coordinate with anyone to have the gate opened up Friday evening the 14th? Dave will you be there yet by then?

Inquiring minds and all that.....

Bob I ordered mine on the Marshall bowhunter's facebook page.

I'm too ugly for Facebook... And too dumb to use a smartphone .
-
Heh, know what you mean Paul.
Well, dang, facebook. Can't do the face stuff. Hope they have extras for sale at MoJAM, size large.

About shirts, can't sell on here. If you want to email me, we could discuss how big a boy you are.
Email robin.baker@gavilon.com
-
just Robin... are you the new t-shirt sponsor for Marshall Bowhunters/MoJam? If not, you seem to be soliciting falsely...????? Maybe you are really Keith in disguise ... >:D
-
Nothing false here.
I truly dump the trash, set targets, run the grill, operate the pig, and order the shirts.
And other things behind the scenes to make your MO-Jam experience the best it can be.
I believe Keith will vouch for me if need be.
I also order the shirts π
-
cool... you can understand how it looks when someone has just joined this forum and suddenly offers to sell shirts... I owe you a cold one for all of the work that you do to make my MoJam experience so wonderful. :BB We have ordered them using a thread many times in the past few years, but it seems like they were just ordered and sold the past couple of years... either way works.
-
No problem Bob. I see where you are coming from. I joined because I had seen questions being asked and Keith is really busy with his job. Just trying to stay in touch.
The other website allowed sales, this one does not. Would like for people to contact us if they can, if not we will have extras.
Thanks

Since you requested that I contact you by email, I have done so. Looking forward to your reply. No need to clutter this thread with acrimonious debate.

We all work on that! I'm thinking by the time she's old enough to date, (...in about 25 years!), she'll be so high 'maintenance' Dave's gonna have a hard time pawning her off on anybody!

My much more confuser savvy wife has a facelook account so I'll let her do the ordering.
Thanks just robin. :OK

Has anyone heard from Mudd or Butch?? It would be great to see them. Larry
-
I see Mudd post over at another traditional website from time to time so he's still around. I don't recall if he made out last year though.
-
Havent seen Butch Speer post in a while; he hasn't made the last couple if I recall correctly.
Hopefully both are hale and hearty and will make it this year.
-
Well ya'll, I have had a whirlwind of a couple of weeks. I have received a pouring of support and help. I don't know what to say other than thank you all! You guy's know who you are.
That being said, I was thinking about surprising everyone but, I will see you all at mojam in a couple of weeks. I won't have my camper this year because a close friend has offered to let me stay in his. Thanks buddy!
I will be bringing as many staves as I can. Hickory and Osage. I'll have my reflex deflex caul with me again as well. But I have misplaced my string jig so if anyone has one or two could they bring theirs?
On the other hand, my Uncle Gary will be joining us at mojam this year. He will fit right in! He will be setting up a booth, he will have hand made knives, tools a few primitive supplies maybe some cedar slats for lam bows. He will have some other craft items as well as wooden toys and puzzels. Oh, and he will have some old splitting wedges and ax heads as well. He does craft shows all over as well as rendezvous. So their should be something interesting for everyone.
Im looking forward to seeing everyone, and I hope to have a great time this year dispite my personal life trails and tribulations. I can't wait, I need to get away!

Happy Independence Day to one and all.
Hey Patrick, glad to hear you going to make and bring your uncle along for the festivities. :OK
In other news, it's raining like a big dog here today. Keeping the roofs and vegetation good and wet mother natures way. (R
Doing odds and ends in the shop today. Feels good to be back in it. Cataract surgery went well, after 30 years, no glasses. Feels kinda funny actually. :)
It's been a dang long while since the last MoJAM it will be great to see y'all again.
G
-
No glasses.. wow, don't know if I'll recognize ya? ;) Glad that the surgery went so well, it is amazing what they can do these days.
Spent some time in the shop yesterday evening with friends Andy and Wyatt "advising" Wyatt on his 4H project bow. It's coming along nicely and he's looking to do some tip overlays and also glue some extra onto the handle, mostly for looks.
-
Good to hear your eye surgery went well gifford! Now you can't use the excuse "Oh man, I need my glasses, I can't see a thing!" >:D
It will be good to see you buddy!
Patrick
-
Thanks guys, it's quite a difference. My wife doesn't have to read the street signs and what not for me when we're driving in a new area. As long as I stayed in my home range I knew where everything was, where to turn etc. But a new area, got a bit frustrating sometimes. We'll see how it goes. I sure do need sunglasses on a sunny day. 8)
-
Good deal buddy! Get you some polarized sun glasses, it will darken just a bit but it will kill the glare. I wear them all the time. I just about can't drive without them in the daylight.
Patrick
-
Glad it went well dan. Also good to hear you will be making it pat. I mighht might not be there as early as planned. I am training for the mr340 and need an extra weekend for a long float so it might be as late as wednesday before we get there this year. Its not something i wsnted, but i need the training time. 340 miles in oess than 88 hours wont be easy. Ive been out of the shop and havent even been shooting because of all this damn paddling. Lol i did get a few small things fornthe auction and im hoping to make a bownthe week before to donate so it shoild be a good time. Ill donwhat i csn for you bob, worst case, i have power but youd have to camp close to me, (-S
-
I was beginning to worry about you Dave... you haven't posted in a week... I'm sure I can find a place to plug my fan. (W
I looked up the mr 340... you are some kind of nuts... but I'm thinking if you shaved off that beard the weight loss might make it easier to paddle... ;D
-
Dang Dave, you not being there till Wednesday is some kinda wrong! Ill see if I can hold down your camp site for ya!
Patrick
-
I think they have the power at the pole where you were last year Bob.
-
I sure hope so... I will be parking there again on Wednesday...2 weeks from now. (-S I can't wait...
-
Dave - the MR 340, wow, that's a serious undertaking (no pun intended). I've watched the beginning of it a couple times, whew, this old Ozark float guy has no business out there with the professionals.
Do you use a canoe or kayak?
Wishing you the best of luck and stay safe, the Mighty MO is not to be underestimated.
-
Hey Bob, will check it out as soon as I get there. I can bring an extension cord. Will be cleaning out the 'Silver Streak' no telling what I'll find in there. Maybe the tools I misplaced from the last MoJAM or two.
Dave needs the beard for his stash of caffeine pills.
-
I will be there in 2 weeks and about 1 hour... :OK I have lots of cords, but I sure need access to that pole... :)
Dave can do it... but the apple pie will have to be at the finish line... not in the canoe... ;D
Today I will get started on some kids arrows for the auction...
-
Good deal Bob, your kids arrows always go over good! We will find you some power bud!
Patrick
-
Thanks for the support guys! Im gonna need it. ;) ill be in a kayak for sure, but some will be in canoes. I prefer the kayak. Apple pie at the end for sure. I agree, the Missouri river doesnt allow mistakes.
Two weeks to go. Wow. Time flies. Bob, im sure the pole will have a spot for you, maybe a good power strip wouod help out? A

I'm up next to Marshall this week doing some work. I was just outside and I gotta tell you guys, despite the little bit of rain, if we have weather this nice for MOJAM, the evenings at the bow pavilion are going to be AWESOME!!! It's 72 degrees out there right now!
My Darling wife is putting the new camping gear into the camping trailer this week while I'm out on the road working. It's awesome to have good help like her!!! My son Wil is planning to be at the camp early, but has to leave by Wednesday for some summer project or other of his. Really looking forward to making it a great MOJAM year!
I spoke with the plant manager at the Hiland Dairy in Springfield about getting clean empty milk jugs for the jug shoot and he is getting some made up for me. I bought the hardware to make the pulley system and poles but have not yet assembled or tested out the device. So far the plans are all just in my head. I heard that a club member in Marshall has gotten us a piece of carpet for the back drop/arrow stop. I need to know the size of it, so I can make sure the frame is designed correctly. Does anybody know how big the carpet that was donated is?
Also, does anyone that is coming happen to have a drone copter that is setup to do photography? If so, it might be cool to get some pix that way...
OneBow

Thats great Eric! Now, if we can just figure out how to make these darn mosquito's go away! I looked at the weather for mojam, looks like it may not be as terribly hot this year compared to others. And the night time temps in the low 70 to upper 60.
So im trying to get in my head what to bring for kthe bow shop this year. Does anyone have a flemish string jig they can bring? I will have my tillering tree, my R/D caul, C-clamps, heat gun, fan, and maybe my shave horse if I have room.
Patrick
-
I will bring my string jig Pat. Also a caul or three, my sander and other what nots.
-
OneBow,
One piece of carpet is 10x12. He dropped two pieces, not sure of second size. I will make a frame to hold the back stop. How big do you need it?
Thanks
-
Is plastic gallon milk/water jug availability in hand?
Someone had access to lots of 'em . . . but just wanna make sure.

I'm thinking 10 X 10 should be plenty! My design idea might be able to hold up both the pulleys and the backstop though. I'll PM you my number and we can talk about it if you like. :)

I'll be there up there on the 20th camping at Marshall. I haven't built a bow since that red oak one I was working on at Eric's last fall so I may be rusty.

Glad you are going to make it David. It's like riding a bike :OK

Hopefully it is. I've still been making shaving with guitar building stuff so my head is there. Also a bit of knapping so it'll be good to get some hands on help.

It will be good to see ya again Bud that nice instrument that you made me shoots well . :OK
-
Good to hear it David, maybe we can make some gravel together! That's about all im able to do with knapping tools.
Is that nice gal of yours coming with you this year?
Patrick
-
Good to hear Paul! I liked that one.
Yep Patrick, Katie will be with me. She says she wants to try the atlatl this time.
-
Good deal buddy!
Make sure to bring plenty of arrows. We are having a jug shoot. It will be fun!
Patrick
-
Looking like the temperature next weekend for the early arrivers will be in the upper 90s. May be a warmer MoJam this year if it doesn't cool off after next weekend. Just means more night shooting and bow building, right?
Neal
-
Yep, but those kids that want to build their first bows will still be sweating it out all day!
Patrick
-
AAYYYYYYY ! This would be before "we don't need no stinking glasses"
-
Nice one Bob, :) actually, it turns out I need 'readers' for really small print. But otherwise good to go. All in all, glad I did it. Will be picking up some polarized safety glasses before MoJAM. 8)
-
Great pic, Dan. Is that the "arrow" shirt? One of my favorites. L
-
CVMN Yep, it sure is.
Really a nice T-Shirt design. I keep hoping someone will make a t-shirt design that shows the business end of comparable arrows. flint heats, barrel hoop heads etc. Howsomever, that is way above my artistic ability.
-
I hold all of my mojam shirts in high regard, and smile every time I see my kids with one of theirs on. Eli needs a large this year.

Yes we will be in attendance although the kids may only appear on Saturday as they are working. I'm building up my tolerance by working up some osage splits each morning for a few hours. I've got a dozen done, another twenty on the pile. Sweating to death each morning is my form of exercise.
Also inventoried my bow wood and I have 80 osage splits (not counting the stuff I'm working up), 20 other wood splits, and 25 sets of billets. Wife said I have enough, then before I could respond she said "I know, crazy talk".
Can someone put me down or two XL t-shirts please?
-
Hey Lenny - good hear you've been enjoying the current stretch of our dee-lightful Mizzura weather. That is heap of staves, splits and billets.
Just a week to go.
-
Thinking that we may find a bit of appetite at some point while we are at MOJAM, ...I've got a barrel smoked spatchcocked turkey going over some chunks of green maple wood. 'Spatchcocked' is one of those fancy culinary words for "cut in half and flattened out by removing the spine of the bird". They sure look pretty, but they smell even better!!! I'll get this smoked most the way through, then I'll vacuum bag it and stick it in the freezer. It should be about perfect to heat it up Saturday night.

Man that looks good Eric!
I can't hardly wait to get off work tomorrow! Lots of changes going on for me the next two weeks. But mojam will be a welcomed change of pace!

I've got nothing packed yet, nothing planned yet. And will be there Sunday morning. I'm paddling from Hermann to St. Charles on Saturday and I might try and find somewhere to paddle around Marshall. Any ideas?
See you all soon!
-
wow. a guy leaves town for a couple of weeks and misses all of the excitement on here. It will not be long now. Look forward to seeing everyone. I have nothing planed for seminars so will hit people up as I see you. If you have something you would like to do let me know. Dan, I will ask my daughter to do another arrow shirt design for next year. Hard to believe next year will be number 20. Dave there are a couple of nice rivers close by that would be good paddle practice for you. The Lamine is one and it is a pretty calm body of water that has small boat traffic on it. The other is called the Missouri River. Bigger boats on it. Keith

Well, I just picked up the clean brand new Milk Jugs from Hiland Dairy. We have 96 of them plus whatever others have collected. This should be fun!

DBar, thats what the kids are for!
Glad to hear you are going to make it on Sunday Dave. I won't deny it, I was a little bummed when you said you wasn't going to make it till Wednesday.
By this time 2 days from now Eric and I will be there setting up camp!
Patrick

I've got two sets of ground quivers ready for the jug shoot.
Can't help on the jugs though as the daughter is lactose intolerant.

"Spathcocked turkey" sounds a little more appetizing than "Spineless yardbird" .

Patrick, Dave - cue Willie Nelson's " On the road again".
Loaded the two new bow benches into the Silver Streak, now the smell of fresh cut lumber is quite pleasant (better than the normal Old Wet Dog and Old Man smells). Tools are all gathered. sorted and distributed amongst the tool bags. Still looking for the misplaced bow.
Only three more days to go....
-
Due to an "overbooking" of appointments and such I'll be shooting for a Wednesday AM arrival, best case scenario.. ???
See ya'll soon. :OK

We are here! Let mojam begin!!!!
Patrick

Bob & Paul, I can see it now, four plugs in the electric box, each one being 'held for Bob Barnes". The lure of coffee, heat gun, tillering device and bow bench will be hard to pass up. :)

Bob, I can promise you will have power one way or another. But if that Mr coffee dosent work I make a mean pot of coffee myself.

It should be a steamer this year. We've gotten lucky the last 2 years.Back to the usual then Id say.Just a few days more and I'll be there.
I'm bringing a few things along too I have over runs on here.Hackberry staves, pairs of cane break snake skins, full length stripped RW turkey feathers ready to be cut and glued, finished tiger bamboo arrows, ready to be made seasoned & straightened dogwood shafts, bees wax,and smoked brain tan pieces.Could bring a bunch of deer antlers.Got a bow to donate to the auction too.
Ill be in a black tear drop trailer with a squaw cooler over it for shade. If your in need of something just mention it I might very well have extra here.
I'm a trader so am always looking for something I'd like or don't have that I could use.
-
I finally got the camper on my truck and started packing... taking a bunch of bows to shoot... a bunch of arrows... stave horse, tillering tree, fletching stuff, string making jig, a few leather grip tools, as well as staves and bow making tools. I did discover way too much bamboo backing slats... so I may have a few extra... :)
leaving here dark thirty Wednesday morning.

Busy morning ... for me.
Moved camping gear from shed to garage. Just few more yards to the car.
Went grocery/beer shopping.
Bows/arrows/quivers/etc/etc for shooting are packed.
Auction donation found ... almost forgot it!
Lots left to do, but plenty of time left to get er done.
Leaving tomorrow, either very early or late in day. Settin' up camp in this heat is not something looking forward to.
See ya'll soon!!

Between garden chores and appointments today I still managed to almost get the truck loaded. Still stuff to do around the place but I'm hoping to catch the morning tide on Wednesday and get there before noon.

I'm about loaded, I just need to attach the rear carrier for my bow bench, tillering tree, a 10" PVC tube full of bows and stave (all to shoot or work on only), and an 8" cardboard tube of 6' bamboo slats... oh and I will have about 20# of FREE white scallop squash for campers.. :OK

My first time attending how primitive are the facilities here? Is there shade available of should I bring my own? I am learning flint napping but want to learn how to make bows. Other then a piece of wood and tools, what should I bring? Do people show up early? I'm only about an hour away and can't wait to learn. Will there be guys throwing Atlatls? Do I need to bring my own water and food?
All The best,
Kenny

Kenny, camping is primitive. There are a few electric plugs ( not many), a community water faucet, a latrine and 4 Jonny on the spots. There will be a lot of how making going on in the pavilion at the bottom of the hill. There is an usually atlatl throwing on Saturday. People have been there since last Saturday, so there are so early arrivers. Bring whatever you want to eat. There is a potluck supper Saturday. Marshall bowhunters usually have some food for sale Thursday, Friday and Saturday with biscuits and gravy Fri. and Sat mornings. Showers are located at the City Park at the pool just up the road. Bring bug spray, the Skeeter's were bad last night.
Look forward to meeting you. I am camping with the bunch across the road from the latrine. I am one of the fat bald guys with a beard. :) There are only about 15 of us that fit that description!

Just joined PA last night and I am planning on attending Mojam in the next day or so. This will be my 4th but this year I'm on a mission. I've made my own selfbow and arrows but I'm needing some first hand advice on knapping. I've watched at a distance and they make it look so easy....NOT! My goal is to make at least one tip to be used on an arrow I made myself and shot in my hickory selfbow that I made from a hickory tree off of my land. Taking a deer with all self made items will be such a great feeling. I've attempted so many times to knap a point but all have not turned out so good. I'll see you guys there!
Save me a T-Shirt in large or XL.....I've seen the logo....super cool!

Taking off.

I spent some time yesterday there and ran across Stringman doing his thing on some rocks. He taught me quite a bit to help me with my knapping skills. Great instructor and craftsman I might add. Great meeting you Stringman. I came home with a few items from various vendors that were there. Thinking about going back on Saturday to see if anymore vendors are there for the weekend visitors. Good Stuff and good friendly people.....can't loose with that combo.

I know you'll find this hard to believe, but due to some inexplicable weather anomaly, the immediate area surrounding MOJAM in Marshall is experiencing very peculiar weather today. The skies are clear blue, the temperature is 71 degrees and there's a light wistful breeze blowing in from all sides. Four unicorns have been spotted and a 9 foot tall white buffalo just walked down the MOJAM gravel lane with two Snow White calves. The water hydrant is running ice cold 180 proof crystal clear shine and there are two inch thick ribeyes on every grill on the place. If you ain't here yet, you're missing out big time! Hurry up and head this way before my hallucinating ends!

I didn't see any rattan bows but did see a fella selling smaller kid sized bows that were painted with all kinds of decorations in all kinds of colors. He was set up on the left side of the road about 1/3 the way down the hill. This was Thursday and to me it looked like a lot of vendors hadn't shown up yet but maybe it may have been the heat. Forecast tomorrow....100 degrees.

With friends like mine ....... on Wed took small plain-jane white/red cooler down to pavilion.
It was filled with COLD bottles of water to share with whomever was in need.
No good deed goes unpunished ... cooler comes up missing!
Figured someone mistakenly hauled mine back to their campsite, instead of their own. But couldn't find an orphaned cooler. That should have been hint!
No big deal .. cheap cooler and lotsa more fun things going on.
Fast forward to Sat night's auction.
Before auction begins, Keith (auctioneer) announces to all gathered that there will be a "special" auction done first. Marley (Dave's daughter) prances out with this gaudy lil cooler in hand!
Bidding commenced. $5, $10, (I still was not comprehending), $50, $100. $100!!
Now understand what happened to my cooler!!!
$250, $500. Bids kept coming! $1000. I had to have my cooler back. $1200 bid escaped my lips. APPLAUSE!!
I HAVE COOLER BACK and it's no longer plain-jane! Pink and red with rows of shiny rhinestones! Also have record bid at MoJam auction.
Lucky to have some cool cool friends!

So I'm wasting time making bows to donate to Elm Hall to raise cash, I just need to gussy up a cooler and auction it! Great work guys, I'm sure the fella's at MoJam appreciate it very much.

Not just any cooler Chris. It has to be one commandeered from a very special person, then snazzied up to their exacting standards. Very special cooler for a very special guy. Good on you Knoll. I hope they filled it up properly for you, at that price it should never get empty.

Just made it home, Interstate 55 was closed for me.
They turned us around to go back to St. Louis, made my detour around.
Great time at MoJam, made some new friends and enjoyed every minute.
It was hot but we all made it fine.

Between all the other stuff Dave does while at Mojam I don't know how he finds the time to take so many pictures..? ???
But we're glad that he does. :OK

Marley came up to us and told us her dad said to take pictures. I hope he paid her.

Had a great time. Miss yall already. wouldnt trade it for anything.

I did send her up one day. I try and take as many as I can. It's awesome seeing everyone each year. We have all watched each others kids grow up. I was a new dad and no nose was my a grandpa yet . I'm still loading pics...

Grayson and I had a great time sweating with everyone. I love watching him get his fill shooting a bow. Living in the city I hope to give him the experiences with the outdoors that I had growing up. Grayson learned a grip-load (if that's the correct terminology) about generosity and I learned a bit about patience. Here's to hoping he never loses that spark for the outdoors. Thanks everyone for helping in the process!

I had some pink arrows made for my daughter and she asked if Mr. Jerry liked pink. I told her that I didn't know if he did or not. "It's my favorite color so I should give him some pink. It sparkles. Mr. Jerry should sparkle." Thus I give you hello kitty.

How are you guys posting more than 4 pictures? In the reply it says I am only allowed 4, which means I will be making a bunch of posts, but there are several that have 6, 8 , even 10 pictures. Is that through Imgur?
I got a lot of pictures to post and I want to do it the most efficient way possible.
Thanks!
Neal
-
Yes Neal. If you use a host site then copy and paste the address in your post you aren't limited on the number of pics you can add at a time. "Imgur" and "postimage" are very easy to use.
-
The pics are great guys! Ive been fumbling around with this imgur app and I can't figure it out. Now I really hate photo bucket! >:(
Hopefully I can get some time to get all of my pictures uploaded and a write up done. What a great week!
Patrick

Am finding Imgur to be as intuitive as PB and tons more responsive. I think you'l find learning curve to be shallow. Good luck.

I thought I had not gotten this moment in a picture, but I was mistaken! When I was looking through my pictures yesterday, I saw this and have to share it. I will post more photos by this weekend. Its Dan (Sidewinder) pulling his arrow out of the jug during the jug shoot.....
-
I thought you weren't supposed to do that. ;D
-
But it makes the water come out so much faster! ;D
-
I remember that guy, that's Dan! ;D
-
That's me walking past Danny. I glanced over and screamed, "NO! Don't pull the arrows out!!" Oooops, too late.
:) (SH) :)
-
I thought you weren't supposed to do that. ;D
The point is not to get caught doing that. Yanking on your arrow while 115 people look-on is not very conducive to a discreet outcome.
OneBow
-
Dave, do you have a usable /public link to your pictures? We should write up rules for our new "late night dry jug shoot" event... (SH)
-
Yup it sure isn't always the person with the most arrows in the jug that wins. Sometimes all they do is add weight. What you really need is a good bleeder. Pass throughout are great but a lot harder to get than you'd think. A arrow above the waterline is just more weight.
Bjrogg
-
Another great year, a big thank you goes out to all those that help make this event happen. Thanks for the pictures guys, missing it already

I'm pretty sure this issue phone app sucks. I'm trying to find a way to post. Patience please! There is no way to post pics that I can find. I'm not computer illiterate by any means. I've looked all over the damn app and it's starting to piss me off!
-
just find a teenager... ANY teen could do it with their eyes shut... :) I thought that you had your pictures on some website... no problem Dave...
-
I use the app to load the pictures and then get on a computer to get the image code. You can do it through the app but it's slower
-
I uploaded pics to imgur app. Then opened imgur. Com on my cells web browser and changed the link code for my pictures to BBCcode which put an IMG at the begenning of my link code. Then copy and paste. Changing to BBCcode is simple you should see the option above the pictures.

Guys, I have a few things missing from the pavilion. If you get a chance to check your stuff, I'm missing my draw knife (curved blade) a red milwakie 16ft tape measure and my large chunk of micarta. I am still looking through my stuff and I do find them I will let you know. Thanks

I think I recognize those other arrows too Patrick, are those the stone points that came with the quiver you traded me. Real nice pictures everyone keep um coming. Just curious when you look at your photo bucket pictures that know one can see, can you see them? I can still see all mine, but I always save them to my phone library and then post them from there. I m not sure if anyone else can see them though.
Bjrogg

Is anyone else having trouble seeing the pictures on this page? I can't see them for some reason.

It was a great time this year!! Next year will be even better with it being the 20th anniversary.
Thinking about it (gonna be a long year ) I would like to thank everybody that traded or helped wyatt out, he likes building bows but you know he is getting at that age where other things become priority
But I think he will keep going with it. I think the best part of the weekend was when ever Dave or Patrick would ask wyatt what happened at wright city in front of his mother he would always answer what happens in the bow shed stays in the bow shed !!! πIt was great talking and seeing everyone and meeting some new people. Counting down he days !

Wow, that photo barrage was like a flash back. Super good job of documenting many fond memories. I can not say enough about how fine these guys are in person. I've been going to Ojam for about 9yrs now and we always have a blast, but even with the stifling heat, I think I liked this better. I will definitely be back next year and with reinforcements. I already have 3 guys committed.
I think that I may have to change my name to " The Grand Loser" after causing my team to forfeit right before the finals of the jug shoot. I think we might have won it to. Dave and Mike were carrying my sorry arse before I had a brain fart and yanked my arrow out of the jug. I'm glad someone caught me on camera so I can relive the agony and sorrow. I will say both Dave and Mike were very gracious about it and it should give them some fodder for next year. I better chain my cooler to a tree or I might end up like Mike did. ;)
It was almost like a mini Tennesee classic with the Pavilion and bows being made into the wee hours every night just not as large. Only thing was missing was some of that South Carolina apple pie.
Dave is a machine, he never stops helping people and Patrick is not far behind either. Those two guys really went out of their way to help the new people. I am sure there were others too and I don't want to say there isn't, they just stuck out in my mind as being all over the place teaching.
My dear friend Jon is the best ever and one of the most versatile and excellent bowmakers you will ever have the privilege to be around. 3 Cheers for you guys. Danny
-
Danny, it"ll be a treat to have ya back!
-
Great pictures Neal, it really makes me want to make it there. Patrick I promise I'll get there someday but it might not be till I retire. It's right during our wheat harvest, but I sure enjoy all the stories and pictures. It's all the people that really make these events so great.

Another great set of pictures - thanks Neil for posting them. A memory in each and every one.
-
Not a problem BJ, I know how the farm keeps you tied down.
Danny, it was good to see you again! Teaching and passing it on is my favorite part of mojam! I was blessed to be helped a lot at my first couple of times there. Now all I want to do is pay it forward.

Dave and Patrick work their butts off at MoJam helping ANYONE that shows up and asks for help... Eric,John, NoNose, and several others help anyone that asks as well... the rest of us just watch in amazement and totally enjoy the entire experience... but I do promise ANYONE that shows up ... you will receive FREE help any time you need it at MoJam... we are not haters... we are lovers of everything that is traditional Archery... next year is a very special 20th anniversary year... everyone needs to come enjoy what is offered... you will return. Please put it on your calendars NOW... I plan to be their a week next year... I will ask my wife later. :) One of my favorite new MoJam toys is the hand forged meat cleaver made by John Murray... the "war bow guy"... thanks John!
-
Looks good Bob. :OK
-
thanks Paul... it's not hard to make John's blacksmith work look good. Patrick also helped by providing a nice pattern for my new caul... finished it earlier today...

Well my pictures will have to wait until after the race. I hop on the mighty MO Tuesday morning. I plan on posting my pics while I recover over next weekend. I miss all you guys already. This past mojam was a special one for me. Seeing all you in tie dye almost brought tears out of me. I have never been so accepted and welcomed by any other group of people. I gladly spend my time down under the shade helping peopke, and hoping that my enthusiasm will rub off onto the new guys and we can pass on this wonderful thing we call Mojam. I want to say thanks to Patrick for finding and restoring my new camping stove! Mr. Neil Young for taking me and picking me up on my river run, and also sharing all your info, not to mention some room on the smoker. Paul and no nose for the two amazing blades. I can't wait to skin my elk this year! Eric for the tie dye! Laura for the cookies. :) Greg and Gail for feeding me and the kids. Dan for the shirts. Tim for my beautiful morel. Jon for the sassafras I made the little bow from. Brent for the trade that got me the bow sock and points, Andy for coming to the event and getting my special order stuff and also my super cool tie dye bow sock. Mike for all the kids necklaces. Keith, Jerry, Robin, and the rest of Marshall Bow hunters for letting us live in your world and taking care of us. Terry for the ice! Bob for being so nice to a new guy almost ten years ago and getting me absolutely hooked. And also to Dave, the first guy to spend the entire time helping others. If it wasn't for him that first year, I might not have had the passion I have for passing it on now. Also to everyone there, thanks for just being there. Despite the heat we all come back because the magic of mojam, the excitement of seeing everyone come together with a common idea. That keeps me coming back. I hope to see you all again next year!

Thats the stuff right there
The stuff we all love and in brace
The stuff that makes us family

Guy, that's what Marshall felt like to me and the kids. That's the closest I've been to mojam. Those two events are on the list. Your jug shoot was a great time at mojam. Me and the kids are looking forward to seeing you all again next year!

Dave, now that's how to discribed mojam brother! Very well put, I don't want to just jump on your coat tails but, ME TO!
I think I can speak for everyone when I say that.
I hope you get some good use out of that camp stove bud. I know you have wanted one for a while, and a vintage one is always better! Im glad you like it bud. Good luck and well wishes on the 340!

No doubt about it, Dave wrote a fine essay on the Spirit of MoJAM, it is why we gather, every year in mid July.
The Marshall Bow Hunters have welcomed us with open arms for nearly 20 years.
We've found kindred spirits and a place to come together, to learn the way of the bent stick and the feathered shaft, and comradeship that comes from learning the old ways and testing the limits in new ways.
I'm truly grateful for being able to be a part of the MoJAM family.

Andy, I did see Wyatt helping his friend. Its always good to see someone like him so enthused. And to see him passing on what he has learned to someone else makes me feel like a proud poppa!

Mark, with your artistic talents, you could make a great teardrop. And, yes, I too like Ed's.

You might remember Dave, aka DVSHunter, over the next day or so.
I watched the news this AM and the Missouri 340 River Race canoes and kayaks shoved off from Kansas City riverfront.
Next stop St. Charles.
Send a good thought his way.
The 'Big Muddy' is a river that should not be underestimated.
Good Luck Dave.

Patrick started a separate thread on Dave in the MO 340. Around the campfire forum as I recall. Otherwise, not sure since I can't seem to navigate the river site that Patrick linked to, others maybe can.
-
Check this thread for Daves 340 trip. There is a link at the bottom of page one that will take you right to his check it /out page.

After seeing all of the awesome pictures... I came across one of my all time favorite pictures from MoJam...years past... I'm getting old and having trouble remembering all of the names of the people in the picture...even though I have a copy of it on my computer desk. It was a year that my younger son Dustin went with me and we all emptied our quivers on a long downhill shot at this poor pig... a total blast! I know me, Dustin, Rob, Rich, Dan, ...but please help me with the others... :-[
-
Bob, that's a blast from the past...I think the two fellas flanking the tree were from the east side of the state, St. Louis or maybe across the river. Don't recall the fella standing by Rob.
Don't know who the young uns were except for Dustin.
How's that for non-answer. :)
-
Wow Bob. Remind me to give rob some trouble about the super long cutoff jorts he has on. That young picture of you reminds me of me 8)
-
Dave- I'll have to let Rob know what you think about his shorts... :)
I wish you had been around for that picture so that you could have met my son Dustin.
I appreciate the compliment, but when I grow up I want to be like you. ;D
