I can get you a precision ball bearing that size, but good luck drilling through it...

Yes Clint, and that would be the way to go.  BUT, I imagine you would still need a mill and a carbide bit to get through it, these things are hardened to the max.

Aaron, thank you for the Reply. I dont have the tools to drill through it unfortunately. If anyone else can get something like that either metal or Stone that be great. 2 inch might be a little small too. Thank you for the help  :)

I would be willing to try to get a hole drilled in something for you. I have a full machine shop right next door to my welding shop. We do it all for each other. Sure they would give it a try. Keep me posted. dp

I could send DP that ball bearing if you want to give it a try.  Course it would still only be 2".   Either way, your call

Ahhh.  A skull cracker.  A 3" steel ball bearing would be a lot of weight to swing.  It would sure do the job if it hit the target though.

At least I think that is what he is referring to

TS Distributers is place that sells ornamental fence parts.
They have a 2-1/2" cast iron ball with a 3/4" square hole for $3.07
They also have hot stamped solid steel balls 2-3/8" is $3.36 and 3-1/8" for $8.96.
These would probably drill easily.

You can go to TS Distributers website and on the left side there's some categories to click on. The second one down is baskets spheres and stars. Click on that and it opens a page with options.

They are a good company to deal with and ship really quick.

Well I'm way off track if that's a maze. I was thinking a big flat box with a maze it it and you tilt it back and fourth till you get the ball to the other end. I was wandering why he needed a hole drilled through it.

A mace is what he wants,a mace being a sphere usually with spikes mounted on a handle or club. I always likes  the flail, spiked ball connected  to the handle by a length of chain. >:D

That's what I was thinking too. LOL

I've heard the flail was a fictional weapon, probably never used in warfare.
