I finely got the Osage tillered yesterday. It turned out 50@27 and pretty good.I was at weight and looked OK. Maybe a little stiff last 1/3 of top limb but I think it will be alright.Don't want to pike it so
thin I will shoot it as is. :)

Pappy I don't think it is off as much as the Picture shows....because the Bow isn't straight in the Tiller Tree....so the Oval doesn't line up squarely with the Bow.....I think it is a great Job..takes me weeks to get one that close........I don't have room for a Tree...I just use a Tiller Stick ...and take my chances that one don't blow up in my Face!!
-
Looks Great to me. Have a stave, been slow about starting my first bow, but that one you have finished, well, hope mine will come out 1/2 as good!!!
-
Nother great lookin bow Pappy!! Looks like a big zero set - how long do you normally leave em in the box?
-
I saw a moose last fall that ought to meet that bow.Beauty !
-
Yep Yankee downloading and using the photo programs really help with the tillering process. but you do need to make sure that you get the oval centered and the bow straight in the pic or it can throw you off.
Pappy thats a sweet looking bow and the tiller dose look really fine. Cant wait to see her finished up. Keenan
-
LOL, Pappy, you do realize that the picture is crooked? Jawge
-
Another nice one Pappy can't wait to shoot it in May ;D
-
Wow, I love the curves! That Osage is one pretty wood. Someday I want to give 'em a try. Beauty of a bow Pappy.
-
Thanks all, ya jawges I was trying to take it while holding the rope with one hand, looking at the
scale and take the picture at the same time,I'm a little right off center anyway so I guess that is par for the course. ;) ;D
Pappy
-
Looks like a fine tiller job on that one Pappy, and I'm sure you're glad to be finally finished with it! ;)

-
( Re: Osage tillered finely ) Your right Pappy that is finely tillered. ;D Jesse
-
Excellent work there, I use MS paint to assist in my tillering sometime also like using a supper plate.
I am definitely amazed how ya guys make them bows without any set,I need to learn that one. :)
-
Tiller looks spot on to me. That's a fine bow Pappy, how long is it?
-
very nice bow as usual !!!

Thanks all, Gordon I think it is 64 n-n but I will measure it when I get the grip on and it sealed up.It seems to shoot good, little weird with the handle that it has now.I guess it will feel more like the bows I am use to when I get some leather on the handle. :) ant use to that cold steel. ;D
Pappy
-
Huh....I thought by the Pictures it had a Built Up Rest and Leather Grip?????

Huh....I thought by the Pictures it had a Built Up Rest and Leather Grip?
Pappy, you've been working on so many bows you're gettin' um mixed up. This bow is the one you're making for someone, not your takedown. They're both fine bows though. ;)
-
Yep yall are right,It 's tough to get Old.Gordon this one is 66 n-n. Now I have them straight,
to much on my mine lately. ??? I said in another thread I had a lot of friends now yall know why I need them ,to keep me straight. ;D

-
Great looking bow. Nice job on the tiller. Justin
-
love that style of recurve! had a bow like that until eddie talked me out of it. gonna have to make one like this summer. good job on the tiller.
-
Beauty Pappy. Love the way you make them curve. I would say in my book your recurves are consistently the nicest around. How fast do they shoot? Bet they are screamers. Thanks for the inspiration. Danny
-
Thanks guys,I appreciate it. Danny I don't know how fast they are ,never shot one
through a cono. but they shoot pretty good. :) Don't think they would set any records tho. :)
Pappy
-
Well, settin records ain't the target now is it?! Makin meat, now thats what I'm talking about and of course your meat makin prowess is well documented, so thats good enough for me. Danny
-
This is a very nice bow.
- Is it the same as the 58"'er you posted for the Short Bows thread.
- Any chance of a less blurred picture of the full draw?
-
I will start another thread Monday,it should be all finished up by then.No this one is 66 n-n.
