I like skull mounts (European) for my bigger antlers.
I posted a while back about being concerned about
critters getting to my buried treasures.
A nice six and a great eight point.
I have had these babies in the ground since
last November. I got the six out last week
and mounted it A ok.
Yesterday morning I went to the pit to get the eight point.
The plywood was moved and the galvanized wash tub
was upturned. No skull. I was pissed. I checked the local
area, no luck. I had seen a bear last week.
The skunks have been eating my cantaloupe but I didn't think
they could tote the skull and antlers. Ah the new neighbor
has a dog. So I did a drive by her house and there was my
dog chewed skull. Chewed it up past the eye sockets.
Darn lazy dog owners. Any way I scrubbed it up and it sucks.
Maybe some fiberglass rebuild??

Im a dog lover myself, but if you have an unruly neighbor who cant keep their dogs off your property.... something may need to happen to their dog.
-
If you do end up with a dog skull you could use the bottom jaws for knife handles. This was a rottweiler that attacked our livestock.

Aw, I don't blame the pooch. It's just doing what nature intends.
It is the owners. Some have no clue. We have a leash law but if I call
the warden that breeds bad feelings. Killing or injuring the dog is jail
time in Virginia. I have been through this with four different owners.
Get one straightened out and a new one appears. If the pooch is still
at large close to bow season I'll do something.
Really nice knife Osage.

Perhaps jf the owners had to pick the pup uo at the pound and payed a fine that would wake them up a little?
-
If a stray dog is on our property I try to run them off if I can. I'll throw rocks or shoot a gun to scare them. I've caught a few and taken them to the pound. If they are causing damage or attacking our animals that's a different story and they get dealt with.

Yes I'd take the seat as it's them being impolite and not worry about their feelings. Some people want other people to baby sit them or parts of their world. That's not mature adult responsible living.
