This stave had a weird bump comin out of the upper fade and it gave me no end of trouble. I finally had to quit worrying about it (as well as the string follow) since it shoots so well. Nothing special about this bow, other than the animal it's meant to kill. Time will tell if it lives up to its purpose. Wdb's from Cip, rams horn from Chuck, and braintan from beadman. Thanks for looking, and God Bless!

That's gorgeous man!! I love it when people leave the coon tails on the skins....it really looks great on the tips. Your gonna have to change your forum name to "Bowman".

Man Scott you knocked that one out of the park bud! I just seen all the pictures of this one in progress on Facebook. (I think it's the same bow?)
I love everything about it! That is a thing of beauty! I would be proud of that one for sure! Very well done! Killer full draw with the knapped pointed arrow!

Now ain't that purty! The bow that is. The large hairy mammal with no shirt...not so much >:D. Nicely done Sir and good hunting! Josh
-
May it accomplish its purpose for being . . . . .
-
Fine looking work. Like that a bunch.

Yes Pat-trick, same one. And thank you for the string silencer material!

Yep I don't use WDB's very often but these turned out to be the right fit on this bow, especially with the coontails.

BJ, the first time I shot this bow I realized it shot the same arrows as my FG bow. This means I only need 1 set of arrows for both bows. It shoots hard and accurate so I believe it will do the job, it's just up to me now.
-
Beautiful lines on that bow.I think I looked at that one at Mojam.Very nice.Have a good time taking in the experiences hunting over there and good luck to you.
-
Nope Ed, this one is brand spankin new. My bows do tend to look alike though... ::)
-
Are you putting it up for BOM?
-
Oh, I reckon I can.
-
Yes Pat-trick, same one. And thank you for the string silencer material!
Your welcome buddy! I wondered if that was something of that fur I sent you. Not sure what it is with this bow but I really like it.

Simple and clean bow Scott. I enjoyed your FB posts on the build too
-
Man Scott that's just awesome. Love everything about it. Any elk on the hill would be proud to be taken by a stik like that.
-
Fantastic looking bow. I enjoyed following along on fb also. Grat job Scott.
-
Great job stringman. Nice and clean
-
Amazing bow. :)
Is the horn orange on one tip or just translucent showing the yellow?
-
I'm sure it was an effect of the lighting and translucence of the horn.
Thanks guys!
-
Well done! It is a beauty! Jawge
-
Looks like it should do the job bud! Good luck out west. I'll need the scouting report as I drive past you on your way home! Just remember how delicious they are.
-
Man I like that profile! Great job
-
Another beauty, no surprise there. Cool follow along on fb. Glad you decided to take along a Selfbow, you planning to hunt with it exclusively?
-
Thats a great looking bow. Love the curves. Excellent job!
-
Well the current plan is to use this bow and take the Soy bow as backup. I'm shooting this setup really well and liking the way it's sending those arrows, so looks like the selfbow gets the nod.
Thanks Dave, I keep thinking about that delicious bite of elk steak you gave me. What a reward that will be!
-
Just wondering. What type of arrows you taking along for shafts.I saw the the articulate fine stone points you were taking.Very nice.I too over here try and have a number of bows that shoot the same arrows.Kinda nice really.
Nice job on the handle BTW.A nice quiet sting from a self bow might reduce the distance of the retrieving part of your hunt too.
-
Tru that Ed, and this bow is as quiet as any out there. I got some thin bamboo shafts from barefoot that I made my arrows with and they fly like darts outta this bow.
-
Cool tough shafts.
-
Beautiful bow, love everything about it. :)
