Had a chance to do our annual frog hunt with the my dad and my kids this weekend. I only got one with the bow but had several shots ::). We ended up with 10 nice bullfrogs and some great memories capped off with a super meal!

I was anything but clean when I walked out of the marsh ;D
The eating was clean with legs in beer batter and deep fried :)
One of the frogs had three big crawfish in its stomach.

Really cool, you using a reel on the bow..?
-
Nice bunch of frogs, yum yum, and like you said great memories, we use to do a lot of that, you have inspired me to get out after them again. :)

No reel. It's all marsh and mud bottom so the arrows stick nice and hold them. I suggest using a longer arrow 30-32". Just used my practice two fletch canes with duplex point and works great.

Thanks Pappy! I used to do it a lot when I was younger and could run around all night. My daughter even looks forward to going and trying to get the most frogs. It is good fun!

I may get a chance at this in the next few years. Some boneheads tried raising bullfrogs(not native to the Island) at the south end of the Island. Lost his shirt so he just turned them loose >:( >:( >:(

Gigging is always fun Tracy and good eating, too. Good shooting, also. A bonus gigging down here is you usually always get you some more snake skins at the same time.
-
As a Brit I do not know why anyone would want to collect Frogs!?! But if we have any French members they must be in fits of jealousy seeing that haul of juicy fat hoppers! :D
-
Frogs Eye! Nice work Tracy!! dp
-
Frogs aren't really my thing.. But that's surely a nice hunt right there!
-
It always seemed a waste to have to kill a frog just for the legs. I wish they could lose one leg like a crab can lose a claw and grow it back. Or maybe if they had an inside tenderloin or a backstrap. Oh well. If wishes was fishes. Frog legs sure eat good.

I've seen people skin the whole frog and eat it. Especially those big "Budweiser commercial" Bull Frogs we have down here.
