Paul handed me this piece of Buffaloe river last weekend and I was able to turn out a turkey tail. Not the easiest thing Ive ever knapped, but the rock is sure purty!

Last night I beat out a couple blades that I hope to put handles on today.

Sure do love them big ole flake scars! Some blades just look better when they are lined up with those kind of scars. Have finished the scabbard for the blade you sent to me except for a sting ray back that I am waiting for. Thanks for sharing! Joe

Oh, the lightest colored one looks like Chigger Woods chert.
It's a Buffalo variety. Like this--

I see. They do look similar, but mine is actually what I call brown co chert (Burlington.)
