Title: Unibond 800
Post by: Markus on May 10, 2016, 08:44:32 am
When laminating with Unibond 800, do you use a lot of clamping pressure or? Also what grit do you use to rough up the gluing surfaces?
Thanks Markus.

I use "enough" pressure, but not much. You can get dry joints if you squeeze too tight. That epoxy requires a toothed surface, sanding isn't enough. I use a 4" piece of hacksaw blade to scratch up my surfaces. I have had zero glue failures using it. Maybe a few bowyer failures, but never glue.

Pearl Drums, just to make sure, you are saying epoxy. Is it Unibond 800 you mean?

People do seem to generically call Unibond or Urac  "epoxy". even though it chemically is not.
