I thought I'd better sneak this in before the Invitational guys start showing their stuff. ;D ;D It's 63"NTN, 45#@27". Weighs 15.5 oz. Bamboo backed yew billets. Brazilion Walnut tips and arrow pass. I steamed the tips and then tried a little Perry reflex when I glued the back on. I tried it through the Chrony and got a best of 172 FPS. Most were 166-169. I thought I had a little more deflex but the Perry reflex pulled a lot of it out. The full draw picture looks a little wonky to me but it looks better for real. I had it canted away from the camera. maybe that's it. It's the heaviest bow I've shot but it seems relatively easy to draw. I like it, that's the most important thing to me.

Del- This is my second booyoo, I like it. It's a great way to use up left over heartwood.
PD- Thanks, I forgot to mention it was with a 435 gr arrow
Joducus- Thank you, elegant is good :D
US- Thanks, Because it's a layer so I could count the rings it's the only one of my trees I have an accurate age for, 274 years
Steve- Thanks
Jon- see my comments to Del. I'm sure you would like it.

Beauty, DC!

I like the combo of the two lighter colors. Looks good!
-
Thats a smooth lookin bow ya got there. Tiller looks spot on, and the braced pic really shows the beauty. Great work.
-
Amazing bow. Must shoot quick, 45# is a popular all round good weight. Looks like someone else mentioned the nice bonsai.
I really want to try a boo backing. Have you attempted boo backed oceanspray yet?

Thanks TN. I've thought about boo backed OS but I've never tried it. OS is so tension strong I don't know that it would buy much. Although..... I did have an OS lift a splinter at a group of pins. It may have a use then. The only reason I made this and the last one is I had some yew heartwood and wanted to use it. So I bought some boo.

very nice congrats,, B

Looks good, the bows are getting shorter now. ;D
-
I learned how to use a saw ;D ;D
-
Strange thing about shorter bows, I think I'm going back to a slightly longer bow at least 64" - 66". A longer smoother drawing bow is easier on my joints especially the shoulders. :P
As far as holding the draw I can do that with my 34# takedwon and it has no ill effect on it. Shot it hundreds of times and it still is at 1/4" set.
-
Good looking bow DC, looks like a smooth shooter too. I've been playing with similar design lately in selfbows and liking 'em for the way they draw so smooth. Not getting the arrow speed that you got out of yours though, nice work. :)

My previous bow is a 42# Saskatoon(Serviceberry). This one was 45# and it was easier to draw(when I first posted it) It has now dropped to 42# and is way easier to pull. Doesn't make any sense to me.
