Title: Superbowl Payne Turkey from Georgia?
Post by: Dalton Knapper on February 09, 2016, 12:10:14 pm
I wanted to show off a couple of points I made on Superbowl Sunday. The side notch is Ft. Payne and the Cahokia is Pink Novaculite that I wire-wrapped with a little Turquoise. Following those is a Turkey Tail I made of Georgia Jasper that Mr. Blackwell kindly traded me for. The right picture is the finished point and the left picture is when I thought I had finished it, but didn't!

They are fine work. I think I may be quitting at the first stage instead of refining my edges.

I like the shape color and scars on all the pieces. Turkey scars look great. Thanks for posting

How much more did you thin the turkey tail on the second go round

Fungoing - There was no significant thinning. I don't generally look at pressure flaking as a thinning process except on small points because it's difficult to reach the middle of a wide point with pressure flaking. I could have knocked down a few ridges though. I was just fine tuning. Thanks for looking.

Nice looking points for sure. I really like the looks of that ft. Payne though.
