 "Laurus nobilis", anyone tried it as bow wood?!

When I was in Pasadena California several of the bow makers had made nice bend through the handle flat bows from "Laurus nobilis" = Bay Laurel. They were nice looking and good shooting bows.

California Bay Laurel is a different but related species. Likely enough similarity in wood though.

Sorry for the late answer guys.
Just cuted a laurus nobilis branch, and i will try it.
Its around 2.5 inchs thick sapling, i left ir long, 200 cm to have room to adjust.
I plan to rough it and take the bark, sealing the ends

Any dimensions sugestions for a non bending handle? Flatbow or pyramid design?! My draw length is 25/26 inches and i would like it to be 55# pounds.

Achivable?!
