Hi all :)
I just taught my second selfbow building seminar this weekend (we had a 4 days weekend here in Spain).
I just wanted to share some pics with you.
All bows came pretty nice, between 25 and 38 pounds, made from straight hackberry saplings just around 1"1/2 in diameter. Bows are simple D bows with flat bellies, and all participants did their job really well (for most of them it was their first wooden bow and I was impressed how well they crafted their bows for being their first time!)
I hope you enjoy the pics :)
Thanks for watching!

...I don't remember how to attach pics from photobucket, and I don't find how in any topic...
...any help welcome, thanks
-
In photobucket there are 3-4 options for linking to your photo. Copy and past the IMG url from photobucket. see the right side of the page for the links.
Congrats on the successful class! :)

Thanks Carson!
Let's try it ...
(maybe I'm not doing it right anyway...?)

Close, but you want the link with "img" in the beginning and the end. But now at least we can see your whole library ;)
-
Thanks J. Andersson.
I'm trying but nor finding how ( I do it and nothing can be seen on my replies...)
So I'll try to reduce them and attach them...
-
continuation...
-
I'm not very computer savvy, sorry I can't tell you what's up but I can now see the last picture you posted in the post before last, if that will give you a clue.
-
Yes, I can see only that one too, and doing the same for all...
-
...and last ones...
(anyone could help me explaining how to do it properly?)
(and sorry for all this mess...)
Thank you in advance :)
-
Looks like a really great weekend. I bet those guys are hooked! :)
-
Copy and past the link I circled in red.
-
I can't find that option! :(
-
If you go to your settings on photobucket you can select the img code to be listed. when I click on your links I can see that option.
-
Looks like fun time by all. Arvin
-
Also on the forum when making a full reply not the quick reply you have an IMG option, the icon is a little Mona Lisa and should be right below the "B" for bold text, it will give you a pair of IMG brackets and all you need to do is past the regular HTML address of the image between the brackets. Or you could just type them [ IMG]url goes here [ /IMG] (without the space in the brackets).

Thank you Urufu! that gives me the clue!!
I'm gonna put them at the beginning of the thread so everyone can see them easily :D
Thanks to all for your help!!
-
Looks like fun. Beautiful setting as well.
-
There ya go! Nice pics, looks like it was a blast!
P.S. I work in tech support, lol.
-
Very cool ,looks like a good time, nothing like getting a bunch of folks together and scrapping on wood. Looks like you were successful in the seminar. :)
Pappy
-
very nice
I like the 8th picture.
it looks like the man is zipping an arrow but it's the bow of the man in background :D
-
GlisGlis: yes!!!! I didn't see it, but it's true, it looks like you say!! :D
Yes, we all had a really good time. I enjoyed it a lot, and so they did. As Pappy said "there's nothing like getting a bunch of folks together and scrapping on wood".
Yes, we all were successful: 7 nice and accurate bows came out of the 7 staves :)
Thanks to all for watching! :)
-
Nice pictures Dantolin, looks like a huge success. I love the work space you have there, the exposed natural timbers in the building is a perfect setting for inspiration to create something beautiful and functional from a stave of wood.
All of the bows made there turned out nice, you have to be happy with those results. :)
-
Yeserrreee!!!!Coooool.
-
Yes, Badly Bent, I'm very happy with the bows that they built :) Thanks.
The place is not mine, I love it, and I use to go there with friends on weekends and it's ideal for a seminar like this one :)
Thanks Beadman!
