I made it to the misty isles of Haida Gwaii to hunt with a fellow I met through Trad Gang. After 9 days of hard hunting, I was finally able to cut a tag. My yew self bow "Naka" took her second deer, this time with a Sitka Spruce shaft, and a Snuffer broadhead. Shot wasn't the best, but effective. It has been a great trip up here!

Nice buck, glad you were able to get one.

Congratulations on the challenging kill.

Congrats just for carrying him on your back! Very cool. I've thought about trying something like that but have not had the will to go through with it (yet). Good job.

Carrying the deer like that was pretty sweet. Would have had a tough time going further than I did, it is heavy and awkward, even a small deer like a Sitka. I remember seeing pictures of my grandpa doing this similar style in the 50's and 60's, I thought it really neat to follow in his steps:)

Congrats, thats a nice looking buck you got. Looks like a beautiful place to spend time chasing the blacktails around.
