Decided last evening that I have been doing too much yapping and not enough knapping, so I made some stuff. Two from quartzite creek cobbles, spalled by block-on-block, hard hammer type technique, direct percusion by dogwood hammer to late preform stage, then a little indirect antler, mostly for the bases, and a tiny bit of antler pressure.

Then I took a small lump of Zuma's Front Royal jasper and made a miniture Clovis point.

Very nice Keith, :)
Good to see you at the tribal meetings.
You BS knappers really complement each other.
I do worry about the mountains get eroded
away prematurely though. >:D

PS I have seen 1" jasper Clovis like that from
the Plenge site in NJ

Until you have tried to work that rock it is hard to imagine the skill involved..nice work Keith!

More like shut up and wear your wrists out! That's some tough stone to get back into things with. Great work.
