Post by: wizardgoat on September 28, 2015, 02:10:58 pm
Im looking for 5 or 6 dozen wooden shafts. Not super picky on species, but they need to all be 40-45 spine.
I have all sorts of stuff to trade so Im sure we can work something out. cheers

are you looking specifically for pre-spined and straightened shafts?  I have quite a few rough apple and apricot shoots you might be interested in if you want to do some work on them.

Thanks guys but I'm going to have to pass on this one. The spine he's asking for is the most common and those shafts are far to valueable to me as finished arrows this time of year. Possibly in February if he still needs them then.

Wizard did you find your 5-6 dozen shafts? I just pulled my table saw and router jig outa the dust to replenish my own stock and I could turn some shafts for you. They would be turned from square stock, kiln dried lumber, uniform thickness, 32" long.

I can hook you up with alternet dog wood, green shoots. Still looking for other yew staves.  I don't care how old they are. Might be a couple 3 years before I get to that one. So age don't matter.
