This will be my 1st year hunting and i felt the need to make another....not that i need a reason ;). This one are sister billets and came from some nasty dead standing. 64 ntn, low 50's at 26/27. Horn overlays with round leather lace wrap handle. A mixture of acatone and black dye for finish with parafin oil make up the finish.Been shooting this one and i have 5 arrows that fly perfect out of it. Really looking forward to hanging with some of my primitive buddies in the woods this winter! Thanks for looking

I doubled one

I like the handle, and the color is quite nice, hopefully it makes meat for ya.
-
Made the choice eh'? I like it. It has all a hunting bow needs to be a hunting bow.
-
Yup this is #1 and a hornbeam #2. Unless they blow up. I am shooting it very well at the moment. If I truly want to say I'm ready I can't be shooting all these random bows like i usually do
-
Good lookin' weapon, Paul.
Did ya cut in a wee shelf or is arrow support totally built out?
Best of luck in the game pursuit!

Good eye, I figured someone would call me out on that. I cut a a quarter into the bow and built up the other with leather

Looks like a great hunting bow. Hopefully you are successful with it.
-
Nothing wrong with cutting a shelf in as far as I'm concern!............helps in shooting self arrows... :) ;)

Yep, no call-out from this corner. Like it!

Hey Mike .......I didn't mean anything by it ....just in general if your trying to make a good shooting bow with a wide range of arrows... the closer to center shot the better chance you have to get that arrow shooting good from it. That's why I make a lot of bow as close to center shot as possible with my self arrows......

Nice bow bud..
Just pick the bow you have the most confidence in and trust.
If it was me, I'd ditch or dye the white silencers.
If you want to say you're ready- go run around the block breathing out of a straw in your mouth and then pick up the bow and shoot 1 arrow at hunting distance. That might be a fraction of your heart rate when you have a deer in killing distance the first time. ;D
-
Very nice bow
-
Drew nailed it. I still do something like that for fun. Trot around the house, grab a bow and fire. Its amazing how a high heart rate will shake your body and arm......and mind!

I'm sure you're right on about that one drew. As for the silencers I just realize I never made a string and I grab the string off another one. Pearly whites silencers will not be on it. But I'll bring them along so you can put them on yours
-
She's a beauty Paul! The handle wrap really looks sharp! Good hunting to you! Josh
-
Looks really great to me. Really like that handle.
-
Well if you miss, we know it wasnt the bow at fault ;D That is a killer tiller on a sweet bow. Nice work Paul and good luck!

-
She's a nice one, Paul. Just right for your first hunting season.
-
congrats, she`s a beauty, Hans
-
Awesome looking bow Paul. I like how you did the shelf. Good luck with it.
-
thats a beaut of a bow there mr. paul .good luck on your first season
-
clean stick, clean tiller cool bow -- good luck hunting!
-
Looks like a hunter to me. Great job.
-
That thing looks deadly for sure. Get it Paul!
-
Thanks guys for the nice comments. Took the bow over to Gregs house yesterday aka badly bent and shot it a while and let him throw a few from it also. Seems to be performing well so I'll just continue on shooting it and hope for the best
-
It shot exceptionally well and if Paul won't hunt with it I will. ;D Its a perfect deer bow Paul, smooth, quiet, accurate as can be and has great cast, it even survived the dry fire test I gave it. The first arrow I drew
back somehow came off the string and my fingers must have followed with it and caused me to dry fire after pulling it back about 12", relieved that no damage was sustained. If you get your shot I think you'll put your deer down Paul, your shooting it well.
-
I wasn't going to tell anyone Greg but you told on yourself I guess. The only other person I've seen dry fire a bow was pearly boy, I guess you two are in a class of your own ;)
-
Nice lookin bow Paul!
-
I don't make a habit of dry firing a bow, I'd never do that with one of my own bows. ???
For a long time I would never shoot another guys selfbow even when he would offer it, always fearful of how i would feel if it decided to break while I was the one behind the controls. I may go back to that rule again for awhile now. ;)
-
You have a fine looking hunting bow to take with you on your first hunt. I am almost envious of all the highs and lows that you are gonna have your first season. Good luck this year. It is high time that those fine looking bows that you have been making are heading to the woods for their intended task! :)
-
Paul's 1st hunting season? Never woulda guessed! Good luck, bud!!
-
That's a nice looking bow Paul. Good luck with it this year.
-
Looks good Paul. Hope to see you make meat with it this fall.
