Title: A truly two dimensional point
Post by: Ghost Knapper on September 08, 2015, 07:56:39 pm
So getting them thin is an addiction. Sometimes though you just gotta cheat.

I drew this last night for our groups local flintknapping groups blog pasvf.blogspot.com (http://pasvf.blogspot.com) I think most of you have seen some of the other posts on here referring to the site. I wanted a sketch of a thebes point for the upcoming post for the point of the month (nothing to do with the sticky post). I have always marveled at Val Waldorfs artwork, and wanted to replicate the look. I think it turned out well for my first attempt.

Thanks for the complements. The actual drawing is more impressive than the photograph of it.

Nice work Joel, very nice in fact! I was an aspiring lithic artist in college and should've stuck on that path as not many are doing it. BTW, I posted a pic of the point I won and tried your tutorial, it's in the original game thread.

I was excited then I saw it was a mechanical pencil.  If you had used a true wooden pencil it would have been abo, but you ruined it for me.

Turbo- Its never too late to start it back up! I did see the post Im glad you photographed it the way you did, seems rather fitting.

JW- I do have a set of "wooden pencils" they are basically branches with a whole drilled out in them, next time i will use one of those. They deffinitly are not a No. 2 pencil though.  ;D The mechanical pencil still had a ebony wood grip to it so its still kinda abo?
