What is your favorite archery movie?

"War of the arrows" is a Korean period flick with lots of amazing archery scenes. The hero even uses a Korean style over draw several times to take a deer and kill an enemy Mongol threw the neck with a short broken arrow. I found it on Net flicks. cheers fiddler49

War of the arrows and the old robin hood because it was filmed right close in Chico
-
War of arrows again. If you havent, you must.
-
ive never seen that korean one. i apologize that i have to go with Lord of the Rings, then Brave, then Robin hood (the recent one)
-
The original Robin Hood with Errol Flynn & Olivia DeHaveland - watch it every chance I get. Always read the credits, watching for "The Captain of the Archers - Howard Hill" . Bob
-
'Dances with Wolves', the use of bow and arrow might be secondary but still a nice showcase in vivo.
-
Errol Flynn's Robin Hood. Jawge

War of the Arrows here too as my top. Another cool foreign film with a good handful of Archery scenes is the Norwegian film Escape (originally Flukt)(2012).

Dances with wolves is a superb film. I like it more every time I watch it. Ta tonka! Ta tonka!

Easily one of the best films ever made. My oldest is 10, we sat down one Saturday just him and I and watched the extended version for his first time. For a kid with a modern attention span he hardly blinked the whole time, and loved it, lol.
+1 for War of Arrows. Also, not a movie but the Robin of Sherwood series is not bad for a good longbow fix in addition to being an excellent show.

LOVED War of the Arrows. I'm sure I'm blind to much of the mythical stuff that could not really occur, ...but it was pretty cool to pretend. The movie took itself seriously the whole time and never allowed the veil to drop. It was intense and dramatic, even when the language could not tell the story, the scene development did. Sub-Titles are ALWAYS a distraction, but I got past them in a hurry.

Appreciate the replies. I'm almost done watching Robin Hood (2010), will definitely be watching all the other movies recommended, and I will probably be watching Errol Flynn's Robin Hood w/ my mom since she loves Olivia de Havilland.

Actually i have to add one now that i think of it. The last samurai had pretty neat couple of scenes
-
The hobbit and lord of the ring trilogies! Although I would love to See Robin Hood.
-
Just watched war of the arrows! Good stuff!
-
What? No one said Rambo? with all of those 100yd shots and the exploding arrow heads that looked like they weighed about 1/2lb each???
My favorite was always the Robin Hood with Errol Flynn.
Never heard of War of the Arrows, I cand wait to see it now.

Watched it last night, awesome movie! and really detailed regarding archery.

Robin Hood, with Errol Flynn! Just fantastic, scenes, and acting, and story line. As a side note, I was watching a documentary on him, and they had his fencing instructor on, and they asked him if Errol Flynn was actually as good as he looked in the film, and the instructor, said, that he had no doubt what soever, if Errol Flynn, had gone into the Olympics, he would have been an Olympic gold medal winner!

Oh! Someone needs to make a movie about the Thompson brothers. It would be the definitive archery film for all time. Nothing would have to be made up either.

I liked The Last Samuri.
