Hello out there. I just cut a 8" cherry log 52" long. What is the process of removing the bark for backing.

You have to make a slice the length of the log. Then just pull off strips. It helps to cut it as you do it too help it out, but it should just pull off in nice strips.

Picture the backing strips are going around the tree, not up and down the length
