This bow started out as my selfbow challenge bow at the Tennessee Classic. Two good friends, Cody and Blackhawk, helped me with heat tempering it and recurving the tips. Thanks guys! I took it to Marshall and got it worked down in weight so I could give it to my niece for her birthday. Its a stave from that 1990's stash of wood that I got last year. It has some snake and character to it. The back ring is concave for most of the way and has some roller coaster humps to it. The tips are white oak from Blackhawk. The Canebrake skin is from Officer Seabass. He gave it to me at the first Moontree gathering. It was just wide enough that I was able to split it in half and do both limbs. It's 59" tip to tip and 30 lbs @ 26". I finished it with 6 coats of tung oil. I have a set of arrows to go with it.
I have 4 nieces. I have made bows for 3 of them so far. Last year I made a bow for her little sister. http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php?topic=47744.0
