Title: Free bamboo & a question on seasoning
Post by: cdpbrewer on June 18, 2015, 01:48:14 pm
Attached is a photo of some bamboo I cut today for backing bows.   3-5" dia and all ages in hopes of getting a few good pieces.

I've knocked the interior nodes out as Eric Krewson suggest.   I plan to season it in the hot garage.  Should it be stored horizontally or vertically?   Anything else to do?

If you're near Chattanooga TN, there's lots more for free if you cut it.   Holler if you want the details.

Store your bamboo vertically, you will get a chimney affect and more air passing through it to dry it. I leave it whole for a month or so then cut it into slats.
