Title: Knapping pit.
Post by: JoJoDapyro on June 11, 2015, 10:26:44 pm
So I normally knap on the side of my garage on concrete. It is pretty simple clean up. I have been thinking for months on how to make a pit in my yard to keep any stray chunk from ending up in my foot (or worse my wife's). It dawns on me that I have a 10x15 area on the other side of my house that isn't used for anything, is shaded and is all sand. What should I include for my pit? I'm thinking a small "pole barn" type structure to keep me out of the rain and snow. Thanks for the ideas I know you will give me.

I had an area like that once and I paved it with bricks, kept all the green stuff from growing up thru my rocks :)

This is outside. Shaded most of the time by my house, or my neighbors house.

An electrical outlet is a good idea. I like to knap in the evenings and when the light starts fading...
