Title: Shooting in a new bow
Post by: DC on June 09, 2015, 05:20:07 pm
Should I be using heavy or light arrows when I'm shooting in a new bow or does it matter?

Whatever ones fly the best is what I usually use

Whatever I get my hands on first is usually what I use. I often build in spurts ... Like 2-5 bows at a time, so I may shoot in a few, I just grab a few reasonably heavy arrows that should be spines remotely closely and give it a go .... Sometimes it's nice to shoot a few different ones during shoot in to get an idea where your arrow spine needs to be

I shoot the arrows I would normally shoot from the particular bow. Generally for hunting so at least 500 grs. My bows are generally 50# to 60# with 56# being my goal.  I do have lighter arrows for lighter bows also.
