Title: Fletching conundrum

Can you do offset arrow fletching with a left or right feather.  Confused at to what constitutes an offset..after all flight feathers are either left or right.   Its tough at times to get a feather to sit straight on the shaft.  Any tricks to attaching them perfectly straight
