Title: Workin on punch notching again
Post by: bowmo on May 15, 2015, 02:15:52 pm
And yea I changed my name.....and I don't know how I feel about that. I would know, but someone stole my mood ring.

Anyway, it seems more fitting since I don't make bows very often anymore.

More punch notch practice. The wide dogleg would be all abo if I had been braver and used an antler punch instead of copper but baby steps I guess.

Nice job on that punch knotching.  Some people use steel welding rods.

Don't underscore yourself Daniel! Your making some fine stuff. I've finally reached the point where I can say, I've been doing this for a long time. And if you'll notice, everything I make is pretty much done in the same style flake wise. Anyway, you'll develop skills you won't even notice as you go along. What a ride, aye ;D?
Just so ya know, I couldn't get anything out of that rock you sent me. I tell ya, I have some challenging rock here but that stuff was above and beyond what I could work with. If you can make something out of it, hats off :).

Nothing!? Man living in a rockless state must really be honing my skills cuz I think I could have managed to get several out it. Especially the smaller Mill Creek pieces. Did you try those?
