This bow is definitely not my norm. Typically I'm shooting bendys under 60 inches. My buddy Dan (dgf) gave me a takedown sleeve a few weeks back when they came to my house for a gathering. Always wanting to make a take down I jump right on it. The bow is approx 63 inches ntn and right around 45 to 50 pounds at 26 inches. I built up the sleeve into a pistol grip fashion. This bow is a super smooth shooter and I was quite happy with the consistency of my shooting. Then I decided while I was stepping outside of my box to build a quiver for it. the hood is foam wrapped with leather and the hard rubber that attaches to the limb is wrapped in birch bark. The bottom piece is all rubber at the moment and I'm considering wrapping it also. All parts were donated to me from a shoe repair shop I used to work at in high school. I was very surprised to see that with the quiver on it my shooting actually improved. Absolutely no vibration at all. Hopefully the materials I used to build it will hold up for a long time but this was a learning curve for me. now all it needs is a polishing on the brass and a few more coats of oil. Thanks for looking

That thing stinks like dead deer already. This fall is going to be good times my friend! The bow and quiver are perfectly you, resourceful and slick.

Very cool Paul, your a very innovative and talented builder of things buddy. :)
Looks like you nailed that first takedown bow build, nice profile and tiller on that bow. Great job on the quiver as well. Looks like your hunting rig for Grayling this fall?

Best figure out how you're gonna make your single bevel 2 blade heads Knocker.....and practice up, I know Pearlie is gonna put a whitetail in your lap in Grayling!
Truly awesome bow!

I am capable of making a broadhead drew boy and certainly won't be buying them.
thanks for all the really nice comments guys!!
-
Awesome work.
-
Love it Paul, love it. Great job. Its a slippery slope after your first takedown. Wont be long till your doing glassies! ;D ;)
-
I totally dig it. That is exactly the bow quiver that would actually go nicely with a self bow.
-
I don't think so cody, I'm not a fiberglass hater but I have virtually no interest. I've been shooting a bow on and off for 20 years and I've only shot a couple of arrows out of fiberglass and never have shot a compound. so I will gladly leave the future of fiberglass to you my friend cody. Just don't be bringing any glass over to my house to work on ;)

Yeah that's why I wrote what I did, I figured you would. Although nothing wrong with buying them if that builds your confidence in killing an animal.
-
Very nicely done Paul. I like it. I think when the deer see that one they may just give up and jump into the pot. Lol Good job. Danny

Great all-around package to showcase your skills Paul. Congratulations. Only thing better is for it to be a bit bloody this fall.
