Ireceived some HHB from auggie today a presawn pyramid to be precise.my question is the back has checked a little so what should i watch out for on chasing a ring? Thanks for your replies. :D

I say dont unless you want a frickin bad headache. hhb isnt ring chasing friendly, some super glue here& there and it shouldnt be a big deal.

I have made a lot of ironwood stave bows, some of it was very old and weathered and even dead standing (lots of drying checks) you dont have to worry about them. If you like I'll take some photos to show the point, and if you really are still woried, superglue them. If they dont run off the edge you are all set.
If you chase a ring (try to, that is) good luck bud.

Small, very longitudinal chesks on a back often survive. Get it shot in, superglue and wrap it to keep it from spreading.
