Title: elm hall elm
Post by: bubby on February 04, 2015, 08:26:19 pm
Greg and me are in the midst of a trade and he got finished before me and man what a nice bow, apparently some of the guys were able to cut some elm at elm hall and this is some of that wood, sounds like it has some good mojo I know it shoots great,62" ntn feels like around #50 somewhere around 27" 28" and as smooth as the other side of the pillow, thank's buddy I hope your bow comes out as good as I got

Glad you like her Bubby, I was nervous about making a long draw bow for a lefty. From the full draw shot it seems to fit your specs well, I'd even go so far as to say it makes you better lookin'. >:D
I just put the final coat of finish on the bow I made from the other half of that sapling, we'll be dating
sisters.   Also looking forward to having my bow from you my friend.

That bow looks just great.  Gotta try Elm for a bend through job sometime after working the current recurve I'm doing.  I really like the finish work on that one.

I need to learn about bendy handles more.  Done a few, but they aren't my "go-to" design.  But with what you just did, I'm thinking of all those elm trees I DIDN'T cut because they were just barely too short for my longish draw......  That is flawless execution at  that length and width.
