Title: First osage bow. String now in line i think
Post by: Vgo750 on January 29, 2015, 09:41:11 pm
This is a follow up post to my string alignment post.  My string is pretty well aligned i think and i can make fine adjustments with finish up.

I am now at 50@22. Im about 1.5" out 10" to .5" tips.  62" ttt. Top limb is 1.5" longer due to center shottish stave curvature.
I think i need more bend mid limb out.  What do yall think?

It looks like it needs to bend mid limb on the right limb. Other than that looks pretty  good to me. Jawe

Looks pretty good to me, I would get it to full brace and carry on, be careful a few inches out of the right fad, looks a little thin or bending a little more than the rest to me. Nice stave. :)

Thought I would check one more time before some final tiller adjustments, rounding, sanding, tip thinning.  Bow is now at 55@25.

I think the tiller looks good in my hand

but when on the tree I feel like im still seeing too much bend right out of the right fade (upper) and then maybe a little flat spot directly tipward beneath that knot.  What do yall think??

Oh please keep in mind that the bow is not resting in the tree on its center but is centered by its nock point.

Thanks!!

The left outer half is a tiny bit stiff may not really be worth worrying about . The right limb needs to have the outer 3/4 of the limb worked quiet a bit foucusing on the area around what looks like a knot near the middle of the limb. There is a spot around the base I the left limb's flipped tip that I would leave alone for now

the right limb needs little work,, but hard to tell without an unbraced photo,,
