Title: splicing horn
Post by: duke3192 on January 14, 2015, 09:53:59 pm
If your horn is not long enough for the bow you want, can you splice the horn and how, butt splice, lap it, what about rivets, do you sinew wrap the joints.

I have seen but spliced horn before. Beyond seeing pics, I know nothing.

Any joint in the working limb will fail eventually. If you must try it then a straight butt joint is the way to go and then wrap with sinew.

Thanks, sounds just like my experience so far, still working at it, haven't got anything yet that I want to post.
