Our youngest daughter turned 3 last Friday and I decided to make a bow for her birthday :) Its a R/D Osage selfbow that weighs in at a whopping 10lbs@18",and 36"ntn. It has osage tip overlays, and a cork built up handle and shelf wrapped in hemp. It only weighs 3.8 ounces..lol  This is no toy,and rips a mean arrow.... It was priceless seeing her unwrap it,pull it out, stand up with it raising it up with a smile on her face saying "oooooo...a bow"...and then when we went out to shoot it for the first time; her face glowed with a big grin after every arrow....priceless!!!!! ;D We shot it again today, and I tried to take some photos before I let her shoot, and I couldn't get her to smile cus she said "dad,i just want to shoot now" anyway...heres some photos and a video of her first shot and shots ;D
smiles all around :)

It's wonderful seeing the smile on a little ones face when they first use a bow ! Great job !
When my kids were using smaller bows like that I would use a single thickness of cardboard with targets of their choice taped to them . ( usually animal targets) the card board is plenty of stopping power for those little bows until they start drawing them to full draw , and allows the arrow to stick in the target . Gives them great satisfaction and keeps them really ,really focused and eager!
Once again , great job !(on the bow and the Fathering)
