SO glad this one didn't break on me - also I ended up switching to carbon express arrows instead of the bamboo ones I made... They were just too pretty (and not spined at all) to get so torn up after one shooting session! She's shooting pretty well so far - about 45 lbs at 29 inches. Going to back her with snakeskin tomorrow!

Feels good to get a shooter! Looks like it'll fire one, that hickory is tough stuff

Try bumping your brace up about 1" and I bet its even smoother for you. 5.5"-6" is close for a bow that long and that style. At least clear your feathers, that noise will spook deer, trust me..;)

Congratulations! Looks good.
I agree with PD.
My bows are braced 7.25-7.5 as measured from string to back of handle.

Nice bow - yep, kick the brace height up a mite.

Congratulations Hunter! Way to stick with it. And you've got a respectable weight there too (my first shooter came in at 30# ;D ) I'm also a fan of hickory; it loves it here where its high desert-y
Enjoy it; you worked for it :) Looking forward to seeing your next success!

Hot dang! A shooter for sure! Good work, especially for your first bow. May she give you years of service and fun.
Is that glove on your left hand from back in your days as a Power Ranger? >:D (Pretty cheeky of me considering you have a working bow and a set of arrows!)

I appreciate it everyone! I'll change the brace height for sure, thanks for the tips! Haha JW that's actually a roughnecking glove, I worked on an offshore oil rig this summer and I wasn't sure if the bamboo arrows would hold up so I put the glove on juuuust in case the arrow decided to break.
Yeah Gifford and 4dog Gig'em!!
I'm class of '17!
Oh and I've got it shooting off a little brow-tine as an arrow rest which is making a some noise so I'll probably cover that with something to keep the sound down - any suggestions?
