Title: moose mojo knife
Post by: KHalverson on August 18, 2014, 09:41:14 pm
forged from antique saw steel (although I must admit there was a touch more stock removal on this than is normal for me)
its my take on a Canadian belt knife  kinda a cross between that and a nessmuck.
9.0 o.a.l   4.750 blade .
moose antler scales (thanks pappy)
its going to a good friend and co worker of mine that is headed to new foundland on a moose hunt at the end of September.
now to get it in leather.
comments and critiques are welcome as usual.
thanks 4 lookin.
KH

I rather like that, cuz. The Nessmuk is a good design and I think this will be a useful and handly knife around camp.  I am looking at the handle and thinking with the blade shape, one could really choke up on it and do fine tip work with the blade just as easily as they could lay it back in the palm and use it for choping, slicing or whatever.  Well done!

The only major flaw with this knife is that it's not in my collection!!!! >:D  How do I get one of your blades KHalverson?

that's a funky, cool knife KH, I've been trying to figure out the shape of the knife that Matt Graham has on dual survival, any ideas?

Very cool knife Kevin, just looks like it belongs on a moose hunt. What's the length on that big moose reducer knife?
If your friend is an extremely stealthy stalker he could probably deal a moose a death blow with the knife alone. :)
