Title: mockingjay bow for my daughter
Post by: swamp monkey on August 17, 2014, 11:16:08 pm
Locust wood.  leather handle with a flap to keep feathers from scratching hands.  (I have to take care of my baby girl!)

61" TL
handle 1"x1"
flare out 2" wide
tips 3/4" wide
roughly 1/4" thick limbs

40# @ 26"

I named it "Adoration" just for her.

She's sure smiling a whole lot more in these pictures than for the other two bows you just posted.  I guess getting to keep it makes all the difference.  Good work, dad!

Smart move, Dad!  I felt awful the first an only time I had to pick feathers out of my little girl's hand.  Not doing that again: flaps or shelf on every kids bow since.  You did a great job with this bow and she'll never forget it!  Way to go :)

Thanks folks. The kind words are appreciated.  My daughter read the post and she smiled, then said thanks too.   ;)
