I haven't posted anything on here in over a year I think. These are my two latest. One is raw from Texas the other is some kind of jasper or something my brother gave me, it must have been Heat treated. It was a narrow piece to begin with so I wasn't able to get it as thin as I wanted.

Those are some good points, I like the stripe that runs the length of the right one...cool rock

Nice blades.
Please give your brother my address. I sure would like "some kind of jasper"
I wonder if it is Mookaite?

They both look nice but the one with the stripe is a real eye catcher.

Thanks guys it's good to be back. Finally settled in here in Scotland and finding time during our long days to break some rock. I've been trying to find some honest to goodness flint over here but all I've found so far is beach gravel. I'll keep looking but the good stuff is way south of me. All the material I have to work now is stuff I've smuggled in from the good ol' USA including that jasper piece. Wish I had more of it. The line was right against the edge of the slab (yes I said slab, when suitcase weight is an issue you have to pack as efficiently as possible!). Haven't really worked that many slabs before so using the Ishi stick I got it as thin as I could without loosing the little stripe. The other one I thinned with Patricks indirect percussion method. It's working real we'll for me so far.
Hope to be posting some more soon.
