This knife is from some landscape supply stone that I heat treated. The stone for the point I picked up from scrap at a knapp-in. Please tell me what it is?

The smaller point looks to me like Novaculite. It`s normally used heated from what little I know, all I`ve had to work with I got from Ed Moser at the knapin he holds every fall at the family farm in Monon, IN. When worked raw it takes a fine (sturdy) edge that`ll take some use before needing resharpening.

The coloring on the smaller point is awesome!

I agree the smaller one is novaculite. The knife looks like some tough Edwards chert. It will turn to butter with a lil heat.
