Title: Floppy arrow rest
Post by: Don Case on May 20, 2014, 08:32:54 pm
I've seen these mentioned a few times but there was never a good picture or description. Can someone elaborate a bit? Maybe post a picture or two?
Thanks
Don

It's usually just a piece of leather that flops over for the arrow to sit on. I've saw some with small wedges in them. I don't have a pic. Search on here. Or google image

Kinda hard to see as the rest is under the grip wrap..But its basically a small piece of leather glued on the bow with a "loop" stickin out for the arrow to rest on..

I'm a big fan of the floppy rest.  It's like shooting off your hand but with a little bit of leather to keep the feathers from tearing into your finger.

In the last 2 issues of PA Mickey "The Ferret"  Lotz did an osage build where he has a picture of the floppy rest he likes to use. You  can see a picture in the last issue.

Since we are all subscribers that photo should be readily available. :)

Great drawing Pat.  That's how it should look. :)

The credit for that drawing goes to Mickie Lotz (aka. The Ferret) .

DuBois also posted a simple rest/strike that could leave a little extra leather flap if you wanted.  The original pictures and explanation were a little easier to understand, but he put up some new ones that get the idea across.
